I can’t believe how worthless this state truly is about keeping up with the roads. We have the highest gas taxes and they do absolutely nothing they should be. Sitting here on 33 north and the road is closed. Trooper comes walking by telling all the motorists turn your cars off your not going anywhere for a while.

Yea something is going on. They've been out in all the other storms, but this one we're all of a sudden on our own? I was kinda shocked when I went out earlier, normally in this small amount of snow they have it taken care of. Didn't even make a single pass according to what people said in town. Didn't even seem like there was any pre-treatment down this time. I was sliding all over the place... o_O

Worked in this slop all day. I’m soaked and cold. Head home to a hot shower, wood burning stove and a great wife.

    Yup.

if somebody lives somewhere that doesn’t have a police force paid out of local taxes, state police have to patrol the area. They aren’t going to do it for free and out of kindness, so somehow the gas tax that is supposed to be, by law, only for construction improvements of our roadways goes towards salary for state police instead.

I saw. What a joke that money was for infrastructure work and the state skims for the PSP then wants to put tolls on the bridges

I have been in every Northern State that has had roads shut down during Snow Events

Most times it has to do with cleaning up the vehicles scattered all over the roads in interesting positions .

The worst ones are where at least one fatality has occurred .The longest was 30 hours on the New York State Thruway

That is the reason no more limited access roads in Snow or Ice

Well, our plant is shut down probably until the snow melts.

Way to go NIMBYs, you've put 350 families jobs at risk. During a pandemic.

Good morning fellow Pennsyltuckyvanians!!! We got 4" of snow - wet, heavy heart-attack stuff. Another 1 to 3" predicted for today. Are we having fun, yet?

On top of it all, our boiler decided to sh*t the bed yesterday. We have radiant in floor heat so the boiler does it all - heat and hot water. Luckily, I noticed it early and got a call into the plumber who services Weil-McClain in our area....and he called me right back. Seriously. It happened. Several times. After talking through the issues, I restarted it and it fired. Ran until water temp was up to proper level but then wouldn't restart the burner to reheat. The good news is that I've been able to do that several times through the night. Repair guy is scheduled to be here today.

    Stay safe....and warm!!
