I agree with everything except the last line. Clearly, there's no comparison between my truck and the GM or Ram :crapstorm:

Kidding, of course, I'm not a brand-whore, I'll drive whatever fits the bill at the time. For now, for me, its the Ford but I'd be lying if I said GM or Ram didn't have any features that I wish my Ford had.

That's probably what he was getting at - top trims are the most "luxury" they can get. Neither has a luxury brand like Toyota has with Lexus. I had a mazda 3, 2.5I 6A and terribly, terribly regret trading that in instead of keeping it as a second vehicle.

I don't wanna bash but I can tell you so far, there are only two things the '17 GMC is better at than this F-150.. the fuel economy and the cup holder location. Why does the cup holder have to be so far away?

Anyway, yes, that is poor form for a salesman, and he should know it. It doesn't make you trust them at all.

To be honest, that's one reason I like the 3rd seat up front over the center console, the arm rest is higher and the cup holder is in a good spot, plus there are 2 more cup holders on the floor. Fuel economy is interesting. What are you getting with your 5.0 vs. the 5.3?

My friend has a '19 Silverado RST and it has most of what my loaded Lariat has for around $10k lower sticker price. That's where I think GM really shines, you have to pay a lot more to get similar options on a Ford. That said, there's probably a reason for that

I'd like a Ford drivetrain and side profile with the stepped windows with a RAM interior and Sierra front end/dollar to options value.

What axle ratio is on the F-150, @jethro? My 2.7 had 3.73s and my 3.5 has 3.55s, but the 3.5 barely gets worse mileage than the 2.7 and I think the 3.73s were the reason why.

I could get 21-22 highway with the Sierra if I made an effort. More commonly 19-20. So far I am seeing 17-18 highway for my Coyote (yes, I just learned my 5.0 is called the Coyote- pardon me, I'm not a car guy like you guys lol).

Ok, yes, I did forget the part about the cost, but honestly I think that gap is narrowing. I BRIEFLY looked at the new Sierras and they are creeping up higher for the better trim levels.

Pretty sure 3.55. Also should probably drive a whole tank commuting for the week before I make judgement.

The door sticker has an axle code that will tell you for sure. Mine's L9, I think, which translates to 3.55 with the E-Locker.

Did you end up with the 36 gallon tank? I absolutely love it. I have a 50 mile round trip commute and can go two weeks between fillups.

That tank size is worth the price of admission, especially if you tow.

Yeah, I wish I had the big tank, next truck. Mines the 3.55 non-LS.

I didn't realize that you could get the max tow without the big tank. Seems like an odd thing to leave out.

Someone ordered this truck in a strange config. It's a Lariat but only 500a, but heated/ventilated seats and full perimeter sensors. I'm not sure it has max tow to be honest, I might be confused with how many trucks I have driven in the past 2 months. Whoever had this truck before definitely didn't tow because the charge circuit isn't installed.

I'm going to the dealer today, they owe me some things, and I will get them to print me my window sticker/build.

Yeah I don't understand bashing another company in that way. Obviously sell your brand but I'm also not someone who responds well to just shitting on something for no real reason. I've been thinking more and more that when it comes time to get another vehicle I'd rather try to go somewhere like CarMax or something and hopefully avoid that. But I don't really know of any around here so I'd probably be off to a subrau dealer...

So I’ve been prepping for camping season. Designing and building a camp kitchen. Here’s my drawing and what I’ve got so far! Whatcha think? Should be done by the end of the week if I can get my ass in the workshop and finish sanding.

Good to know! I haven't explored or paid much attention in that area much. Usually go to Harbor Freight, BJ's, then home.

Back in high school when I was in boy scouts we had something like that made up. It was like the ark of the covenant in Indian Jones. BIIIIIIIIG heavy bitch but it was essentially a full kitchen. Doors dropped down where the grill/griddle would go. both sides had spices, shelves, etc. ends had "counters" that folded down and we set up one of those shower bags for cleaning dishes. Was pretty cool, the legs were what was used to carry it then stood the whole thing up. Thing was the size and weight of a small/midsized office desk. We had a smaller one made up too with a similar design.
