Auto Transmission Stuck in 4th Gear

    My bad .
    Thought it was upshifting too early . Sticking in 4th is your issue . Not sure if there is a fix for the 18,s , but a common issue on the 16 and 17 that was fixed with programming

    Also , you wont get higher gears until the transmission temperature sensor reports to your Ecm that the transmission is warm enough to upshift .

    Thanks for this I figured this out the other day, but crazy this is the "solution" damn electronics haha. Really wanted a manual but the 2010 I ended up going with was just to good of a deal to pass up on.

    The real solution is ov/vf tune which eliminates the 4th gear overhang

    I'll look into that, bc it is definitely annoying when it seems to hang. It always seems to happen at the most inconvenient times

    It doesn't not work in D when you pass a certain load%.
    Works in S though, but I suspect it would work in S on stock.
    By S I mean put in S and select 6th.

    Seems when these trucks are not fully warmed up enough they will not shift into 6th gear....at least a buddies and mine. I believe my 01 tundra was the same...it didn't go into 4th until warm enough.
