Lol it’s not the cost. I dont mind paying, but I don’t want to go and not enjoy.

I’m not doing windrock bike park, I’d only venture to windrock xc. It seems the best trail there is mixtape. It has features and stuff I know I won’t do. So, is it worth it? Or would I be better off progressing around Knoxville?

    free to progress
    Or 40$ to not progress

Yeah that’s the most popular. 0.8 miles with features I won’t do.

that’s why I ask, worth it?

My cardio is going to be shit, I'm already accepted it. I have not ridden in months but I'll still be there with bells on (assuming no unseen baby complications). But no the pontoon is also not doing my cardio any favors. I'm turning the wheel and doing 12 Ounce curls.......

    Ugh. Pain.

I’m really hoping our 4 mile nica loop opens real soon so I can start knocking out miles on my way home every single day.

Negative. I’d hang clothes on it and never use it. Waste of money.

With that much bike your should be able to clean all of mixtape by just leaning back and steering intelligently. All the "jumps" have bail out lines around them and the chunky stuff isn't super crazy, just keeps you on your toes.

Chunk doesn’t bother me. Gap jumps, big drops, etc are things I haven’t gotten to yet. Haven’t even done a tabletop yet, of any size.

I know I can go around stuff and whatnot, but I can do that anywhere.

I think what y’all might be missing is that Knoxville urban wilderness has a lot of stuff I haven’t yet progressed to, and it’s free.

whereas windrock has a lot of stuff I KNOW I won’t do, and it isn’t free.

hence, is it worth it? Mentally, I feel like I’m better off staying around Knoxville and progressing myself.

    Yup.
I’m on a pele about every other day. Didn’t think I would, but rain/cold/closed trails leaves little option.

I'm not sure what trail it is of course, but I'm referring to the NICA race that was in Huntsville area this past weekend.

I love living near a mountain that drains very very well.

Yeah that was a different trail system at the space and rocket center.

I’m talking about our new 4 mile loop that Barry smith out of Chattanooga has helped on. I’ve mentioned it a lot lol

Up to you man but if we are planning a group trip then we might as well ride as a group. We will take our time on the descents and bring beers along for our breaks - no pressure dude. Clearly all of our skill levels vary widely and we should approach this trip as such (As in; enjoy our time together and ride bikes - I have no intention on any PRs)

Well, on that note, the “focus” was on baker creek for the trip. But enough folks expressed interest in windrock...

I get your point and it makes logical sense... But, don't you enjoy progression and the feeling of clearing a section of trail that challenges you and pushes you outside your comfort zone a bit? You could session "Talladega" (or whatever it was called) a few times, get some confidence and comfort and then try the next hardest trail down.

No judgement here, just don't want you to miss out on a awesome ride. Def don't skip baker creek, though.
