ah i thought someone said they picked them up from SP. I'm aware of ShittCo. I pinged the guy around the same Roaming Lost had on his truck. if they were at SP makes that easy but looks like ill have to wait. they tend to sell out quick.

    FWIW my thoughts are below:

Depending on the tent material, 303 fabric guard is better than seam sealer. It’s basically ceramic coating for tents. It gets absorbed by the tent and causes water to bead and run right off. Seam sealer tends to get brittle and crack over time.

Roofnest offers an anticondensation pad that goes below the sleeping pad.

Leaking at the bolt rope is interesting. AT mitigates this by having a flap that goes over the extrusion and bolt rope. Not sure if SP has this or not. More importantly, has anyone picked up the phone and called SP to hear their thoughts on the matter?

months ago I was told that there is a “gutter” built into the extrusions. My first immediate thought was that it was going to freeze up and not allow draining the first time I would camp in barely freezing temps. Also, I think something else mentioned was “it’s made in Portland, it will work in the rain”.
I hope it’s a small defect that is easily rectified. The SP is a good product adding more options to the market that I may own one day.

I may have mentioned some of that since when talking with Spencer he noted they designed it to be used in the PNW. Hopefully, a quick remedy since many of us assumed it was going to withstand some decent rain. Now as my install date is coming up I hope it doesn't rain.

There is a state campground at the base of the bridge on the WA side where Hwy 97 crosses the Columbia to meets I84. Nice walk along the river shore, admire the bridge. Good spot for a nights rest. Nothing spectacular.

I did some test fitting of the fireplace last evening, and I'm not sure it will work the way I'd like. It seems like I will have to cut the chimney by around 8" to get it to flush mount on the outside of the door. The install docs say that you can remove that much, but I believe for a vertical/ceiling exit. I'm speaking with them today to understand if losing that 8" will impact how the heater works.

I'm not willing to give up just yet, but I might have to start thinking about pivoting to a diesel setup if I can't get the placement in the right spot, sadly.

So hypothetically, if you had to choose between a white and dark gray SP, which would you think would be easier to sell in a few years?

I'm heavily leaning towards white, and that's what I ordered. There may be time to switch, and if so, kids are making strong push for dark grey.

My dogs will occasionally ride in the back, assuming I can find an acceptable venting solution, which is why I'm strongly biased towards white.

    (My truck is silver)

dark gray might show dirt less and work with more truck colors.

I have a white Ford Ranger. I'm starting to think I'll go with one of the Gray choices.... I'm worried black will cook the camper, I'mm not sure I want an all white rig.

Time to come out of the woodwork. I paid my 50% deposit yesterday for a 2010 ACLB X-1. Truck is black, and I went with a White Canopy, Tan tent, and Black rails. Couldn't find a white on black combo so we'll see how it turns out.

Of note: Cindy reached out to also check if I was able to front 75% of the remaining balance, to help them out with current cashflow. That was not a problem for me, but just want to relay their situation to others.
