As of last Friday, mine was supposed to be in production today. Getting close, but feels further away everyday. Lol

Did your dealership give you the pre-production VIN so you could track when it gets built?

I just reached out to random dealers across the country to see what regional deals there were. Might be worth me leaving Denver to buy a truck.

I might have the VIN, but I get a text every week from them. Where do I track it?

I'm thinking of trying to mimic the OEM Limited Hickory Leather...with something like this...thoughts on how it might look with the AG?[IMG]

I would love to see that color inside an AG Tacoma. I think it would look great.

Several weeks from the scheduled production date, Toyota assigns a "pre" build VIN. It is similar to a VIN but will have a letter leading the last 4 digits - mine was B179. A regular VIN will have numbers in all 4 last digits.

If you go to this site, you can load in the full pre-VIN and it will show the scheduled configuration of your truck. https://www.toyota.com/owners/my-vehicle/vehicle-specification

A day or so before production, that VIN will indicate that it is not valid. At that point, you know the actual VIN has been assigned to your truck and it is headed into production. The dealer will see the new VIN on their vehicle tracking system.

Once that occurs, ask them to provide you a screen shot occasionally of their Dealer Daily report for your truck. You will see the actual production date and be able to track its progress to you. Mine was pretty accurate - it arrived on the earliest date projected to get to the dealership.

This is a copy of last one I got before my truck arrived:

Sweet. I found the VIN and it was a pre-production VIN. The vehicle did come up in the search, so does that mean that it is not yet in production?

Yes, I believe so. The pre-VIN is invalidated when the actual VIN is assigned. I don't know how quickly the system updates so it may be a day or so off.

AG Fam, I posted this in the 3rd Gen Hood Swap thread, but thought it might also be useful for this audience.

Do you have the blackout vinyl on your rims? I can't quite tell if its just lighting or not...I have been looking at those from different sources and wonder how they hold up and if they look good in person or not?

PS - Also In UTAH and I agree - we have a lot of great terrain all over the state

So I just went and did this for mine and noticed that they have it listed as having fabric seats when I ordered the TRD OF premium which lists leather seats. On my original order form paper work I have leather seats printed out. Any chance this is just a mistake on the website?

Possibly - does it also list the Premium upgrade under the options? I don't know enough about how they document the standard versus additional options. It may just be that they list out the regular vehicle and then list the options and options over-ride the base options. Probably worth a call to your dealership to confirm - just to give yourself peace of mind.
