    FTFY.

It's a Roll Bar until you roll it. Than it becomes a Sport Bar.

I’ve always called them headache racks. I don’t think it’s a roll bar until in mounts on the inside of the bed

lol come up silly stuff, get clicks, get paid. Convince people too lazy to read and research that your opinions are fact, then do it again.
Nothing against you, but that whole "go watch a video and learn" thing is just dumbing down people at an alarming rate.

    derailing thread but.....

I would argue the exact opposite. we live in a time where anyone can learn how to do practically anything through video and its allowing people to do many tasks they might have otherwise had no idea how to do. There is an incredible amount of knowledge shared on sites like youtube. i think its one of the best things we have in our lives now if you choose to use it properly.

I'm (almost) right there with you - I had a '92 Blazer that I bought from the North Dakota Highway Patrol auction in 1996. Loved that thing.

    Alright, example:
I want to learn how to build a widget. I have two choices:
    1. I can go to youtube and watch a video on how to build the widget or
    2. I can look up how to do it and get the instructions and drawings from the internet.

    What's the difference?
Anyone can make a youtube channel, literally anyone. How do you know, out of a hundred videos offering the exact same "how to build a widget" video, that the instruction is any good? You have to watch the video and waste 15 minutes of your life to determine that it was a dumb video. Then you have to do it again.
When you have to actually look up "how to build a widget" on the internet you get quickly educated on who has the best instructions.

Look at the difference between this forum and a youtube Taco guy. You come here, ask a question and within hours you get the correct answer. Sure you have to wade through some BS but the bad answers quickly get called out. Watching a video you have no clue if the advice is good or bad and you might not even get the answer to your question.
Best part? No ads. Remember, these guys are only doing it for clicks which mean money.
So, if you wanna be lazy, get spoon fed, watch endless ads and listen to questionable people expounding on stuff they may or may not know anything about, then youtube is your answer.
If you truly want to learn about something, look it up, go to a forum or a local meet or even... buy a book about it on Amazon! Learn it right.

But......it is the place to be for millennials, my son would agree with you.

A few months ago I did an experiment. Now, 1) I'm not a dumbass and 2) I am a woodworker. However, I needed to learn something I had never done... Take the high places out of a piece of 28" wide live edge piece of ash. I had an electric planer but had only used it on narrow pieces of wood.
I usually google it, find an article from a trusty source and after reading the steps, then maybe watch a video from the equipment manufacturer. Takes maybe 20 minutes.

This time... I vowed to use youtube for something other than music. I went to youtube, searched for my particular task and got dozens of results... no clue who these people were that made the video... no clue if they were good or bad because the subject was esoteric enough to only have maybe a hundred views, yet dozens of people had made videos on how to do it. I picked one at random and knew after a few minutes this guy was full of shit. Picked another and same thing. After the 5th video, I got a good one and watched the entire 17 minutes.
However, it took me five tries to get a good one, and without my prior knowledge I would have ruined the expensive piece of wood as shown by the dumbass. My point?
There are a lot of posers out there wanting your money and most of them are on youtube and instagram.

That, and they're typically just bolted to the sheet metal of the bed = not structural in any way.

    Like, so many.
IDK man, my dad wasn't into a lot of stuff I'm into so the internet has been really helpful in learning how to do the things I like.
