    You're welcome!

Some of the handheld units at autoparts stores will tell you also. The store is unlikely to know how as it is not a typical function.

This new TSB will clear up the bad rap the truck is getting. All because of a software program. Mechanically there is no issue at all. What is the world coming too. This kind of stuff was a non issue at one point . Now everything runs off software .

Unfortunately I think a lot of the performance issues with today’s vehicles may be related to government regulation.

That has been said since the 1970s though. :D

In the end, the power per unit of displacement is friggin' killer these days.

Myself, I am greatly enjoying less smog and not smelling raw gas and billowing diesel going down the road. The expense of the changes are not easy, but I think it is worth it?

Probably not. I don't see a large downside though? Some of the visceral experience will be lost, but there will be other things that will replace it.

Similarly, I hate what cell phones have done, but I could not give mine up.

I had the TSB done last week, and noticed a big difference in holding the gear up to about 40 mph. On the highway (>65mph), it still down shifts (to lower gear) when I hit the SLIGHTEST of inclines...same as did before the update. Guess I'll just have to live with that.

1 - So once the TSB is done...does the transmission "learning and adjusting to the driving habits of the driver" feature, start over...? 2 - I have a OBD2 reader for fault codes, etc. Can I read use it read the current ECU Calibration...to confirm it is 04B33.

Learning is always active. It is a big deal if the folks doing the flash Reset the DTCs and Learned Values. But, it will adapt over a decent amount of time.

Even so...at some point, the "modifications based on learning" should be reduced to nothing...assuming the same driver, driving habits, etc.
This is my point...the Toyota dealer did my update, so I wonder if they DID reset those things, and my trucks "learning" is gonna have to start from the beginning. Doesn't really matter...I am happy with the TSB. If it has to start learning from scratch...then so be it.

Of course. More adaption happens shortly after the flash. About 20mi. Most settling is done at about 400mi to 500im. I have noticed subtle changes in the same drive at over 1,000mi.

The instruction to do the LV Resets is not in the TSB. But, the first time that I did them, the difference was dramatic for me.

I felt big changes with my first TSB flash, but the Reset made it even better.

Had the TSB-0092-20 flash done today, noticed the difference the minute I left the dealer. Shifts smoother while driving down regular roads in town. Most noticeable when merging onto the highway, doesn't shift like 5 times before I get up to speed. I just took a copy of the TSB to the dealer while there for service, saw these notes on my copy of the invoice " Customer supplied TSB-0092-20" "Tech found TSB applies" "Reflash ECM with updated program". No resistance whatsoever, dealer in 08078 zip. BTW I had 20,524 miles at the time of the reflash and the production date on my Tacoma is 9/18. Time to focus on hitting the sand and soaking some clam:thumbsup:

Q: Has anyone noticed any difference in 4x4 performance after having the TSB applied?

@Cwopinger --- I believe if you go to 'General Information', they would be the Calibration IDs "ECU 7E0" and "ECU 7E1". Depending on the year of your truck, match it to the new IDs below:

    Hope this helps.
