I have been stressing a little for few days as my weekender waterport arrived but I have not figured this one out. I purchased a Martin roof rack and waiting for it but now changed my mind and want to mount the water port on the bed instead of the roof. I have a few issues finding a solid way to do it. The one person who did it was on a tundra and I love his set up but want it a little more secured.

problem 1- the tslots I got from eBay seem to be the wrong size they seem to wiggle on the rail

problem 2 from this image I want the mount the bottom of brackets to something for more support, any ideas?
Ronin.pro on ig gave me this idea and I love it but it brought me here .: any help is appreciated - thanks

is that an rsi cap? man im jelly.

but i thought you just screw some plastic spacers on the bottom so the bottom of the mount isnt floating. that would be the easiest without making something that attaches to the bed itself. for problem 2 at least

Filled with water, the Waterport Weekender weighs some 91 lbs. That's a lot of weight to be hanging from the bed rail.

I've been thinking about getting one myself. The ideal place to mount it, IMO, is on the roof rack. That way you have gravity flow if for some reason you lose pressurization in the tank. Also any leaks would be exterior to your camper shell.

Yeah.. I understand that weekender is heavy and the place I should/need to mount it on roof rack but this would be way better IF I can find some why to mount it here safely.. trying to find some bracket/straps/thingymabob as the weekender is still relatively new and people are still playing with it trying to use it different ways.

    Like, so many.
Have you looked at the Cali Raised molle panels? You could use a WaterPort universal mount on that.

the two bolts (one is visible in your picture) that going into the bed floor there would be good bottom mounting points for something bolted into the rail. Then the weight wouldn't be hanging off the rail, merely attached to it.

Any updates??!! I got a killer deal on the weekender waterport for the same price as the day tank so why not. Issue is on my roof rack I have only 1 cross bar available to mount and I messeaged UpTop Overland and they dont reccommend having 93lbs on 1 cross bar hence why Im looking at ideas. I was thinking of mounting it on top of the wheel well (picture below) but still looking at other options. Then theres this option 2 Im considering underneath my roof rack. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1g83waFtAh0&t=359sIMG-1818.jpg

Am I missing something? You'll never get it more than half full mounted like that.

Technically if he fills up directly from through the fill valve port he'll be fine but it looks like a tight fit and I dont think that water hose is rated to handle that much pressure so idk. I might just end up buying the T slots posted above and making a mount similar to the orignal one posted.

Waterports Trail mount is plastic T slot nuts with lock nuts you thread their bolts into. Plus, the spacing is off on holding the tank also, so it tweaks it. I had to mod mine enough I just made my own mount setup for my waterport. I have the smaller 3.8gal one. Honestly its been such a pita and the lower outlet that screws on via the hose connection keeps breaking off randomly. Dumping all the water. Hooked up their hose to wash and it'll just pop off.
    Not worth the money IMO.

Yikes :/ well Ill figure out a mounting solution and share with yall. This is where I would like to place it but would need to distribute the weight across mulitple crossbars.

I keep wanting to hang more weight off the bed rails, so I made the plates you can see at the front of the bed behind my shovel and some short ones that sit on the side ledges like the propane holder uses. I added an edge strip where it contacts the bed, and have tried elevator bolts behind to give it a wide place to bear on the side of the bed. So far, even with a shelf/rack loaded up I haven't had any problems. You could just use a piece of flat stock with a couple holes in it if you don't want the universal nature of slots and holes like I did.

Here’s the mock up. Just waiting on the T slots to come in the mail. I’ll make video for this mounting solution once I’m satisfied with everything. I’ll have 4 brackets distributing the weight so hopefully everything will hold up if not I’ll buy more brackets so far just under $50 in parts from local hardware store. Rago fab sells these modular bed rail mount but for 88.95 each no thank you.
