Guess it'll depend on how much clearance you have below it...probably between the frame rails right?

So glad I got the hell out of Illinois. This view at my old place was a fence and a 4 lane road on the other side.

So what I was going to mention...check this out -

    20210223_140742.jpg

I will say, I still like to hit the skinny pedal a little harder than I care to admit...but after multiple outings and checking my CV axles, there is a small area where the CV axle contacts the spring on my Kings as shown above.

It's only on my passenger side as my driver side is untouched -

    20210223_140750.jpg

That line around it is just a lip on the CV axle just like the other side. The lip is a step down to what would seem like a minute difference in the diameter of the CV axle.

Again, only the passenger side has ever rubbed but not the driver side.

Maybe if I finally got around to installing my Durobumps up front, this issue would be completely alleviated. I will say though I don't think it happens often at all because that scratch is already pretty dirty so it must've happened at Hollister Hills or even before that.

    I have mods
Harbor Freight spray can bedliner. I use that on my bumpers, sliders and skid plates. Stuff is awesome and dries quickly.

I wonder if your alignment pushing your tire so far forward affects (is that a thing?)

The durobumps are taller than the stock bumps but they compress quite a bit with the softer compound so IDK if that would solve the issue. Weird that it only happens on one side

That would slightly edge the whole assembly forward wouldn't it? Not just the CV axle

edit - nm that wouldn't make any sense, I guess that could be it...need to get under my truck and look

Well, in order for most insurances to approve mris you need to complete all other shit like x-rays, conservative at home therapies, and working with PT. Then u image it, send to ortho for possible interventions.

However, in cases like yours with a prior injury (Why I asked), things change. Mri would be first course of action to make sure u don't go to pt and shred what is left attached of ur ligaments.

Sounds like he's got a lil of malpractice sending people the wrong ways, possibly related to influx of patients and being behind?? Idk *shrug*

Yea. I guess it would, but I bet the hub moves farther than the king base, moving the cv farther.

probably doesn’t make that big of a difference

yeah now that I think about it I don't think it would move the coilover at all because that's kinda stuck in place being bolted into the coil bucket lol. I dunno

I've only had the issue of the King coils rubbing the banjo bolt on the caliper at full lock/compression.

I dunno, just a thought. Seems weird that he rubs on the bumper and not the pinch weld.

The bank puts the money in your account by then but that doesn't necessarily mean they've completely cleared the check, for instance if the check ends up bouncing for whatever reason they can withdraw the money (plus a fee) from your account several days later

That's a 4runner thing apparently, they all have the wheels sitting closer to the bumper than the pinch weld...opposite on our trucks.

@JKO1998 like @eon_blue said, the 4R's wheels just seem to be pushed forward versus backward.

I remember texting Ryan about his tires before buying mine, only to find out I don't even need to do the pinch weld.

But you could be onto something regarding my alignment? Maybe not?

Maybe the previous alignment was good enough, but caused the rubbing issue because I had it aligned again after that small accident in my parking lot.
