Does anyone know the size of this hole? I'm planning on removing my antenna and wanted to get a few plug covers for it.

    Thanks!

I'm not sure if it's just a hole. It's probably more like an ovaltangle or a rectoval.

Lol at least I didn't pretend to know, unlike many who post here. I thought my reply was humorous... sorry you didn't.

Here's the only drawing that I could find of the antenna assembly...sorry, there's just not a lot of info out there...

However, it looks there's like a rectangular gasket under the antenna assembly.

It's a sqaure hole IIRC. Might have to make a custom plug.

Depends on year/generation. I think there is a thread somewhere around here that shows multiple generations of the antenna assembly.

I wanted to mount the RTT close to the roof, I don't plan on having a roof rack and we don't use the radio... the kids are always connecting their phones to the radio.

I paid $65 for the stubby antenna from a 2011 found here. More scattered info in my post over here.

As far as removal, if you clothesline a cable at 20mph it pops right off! F43184DB-2D8C-461E-8C3F-9006F93B46BA.jpg

Surprised at the amount of circuitry in that thing. I always thought it was mainly for looks. Maybe it IS reporting your position to the KGB?

Maybe that is why my radio is pulling in distant stations. That looks like a $1000 repair when it gets broken or water damaged.
