I did live in Boulder for many years, but my ex and I actually got her when I lived up in Jers.
I've had a number of dogs since she passed, but she will always have a very special place in my heart forever. The best mountain / ski dog ever :)

She managed to nose open the baby gate we use to keep her downstairs while I was fixing breakfast.

My boy had TTA surgery when he was 4 but his knee was never right after that. I lifted him in and out every time (he was 60lb).

We lost him last year at 8 years old but inherited my late father in laws 85lb yellow lab that has insecurity issues and doesn’t trust me to lift him. 1st day I got the truck I removed the back seats and built a platform so at least he doesn’t need to jump up as high as the seat...

This is my boy a few months before he passed...

It sure is tough to loose them. I still think of my boy everyday and he has been gone a year.

It is hard to lose them, and perhaps even harder to see them pass away. My yellow lab, Scout, just turned eight and has had severe health problems for the past few years. She has heart problems and most recently diagnosed with Addison disease.

Yes it’s incredibly hard, he was the best. Went from healthy to us making the hardest decision within a couple of months.

She looks like a cutie all you can do is do the best for her and soak up those cuddles and kisses. Beautiful girl.

She looks about the same size as my boy, doesn’t take too much space on the bed ;)

    I’m sorry, it’s tough, you’re not alone...

Obviously I’m biased but Dexter was the best dog in the world. We don’t have kids and he was by my side everywhere, we included him in as much as we could. Everywhere we went everyone would want to pet him and he had the best outlook on life and excelled in being happy. I would warn people that want to pet him, only if you don’t mind being kissed.

Im not much of an emotional guy but every now and then I have a random breakdown, it’s crazy!

BUT... in the picture below is Dusty, we effectively inherited him from the passing of my father in law 5 days after Dexter passed. He’s had a tough life and has lots of insecurities, issues and complexities.

His biggest issues is leash aggression. It’s sooo hard trying to train it out of him, and embarrassing.

Although he is now living his best life :)

It’s damn hard to swap from a Dexter to a Dusty I tell ya!
