I worded that poorly. I got the parts for that from a local guy. Pretty solid deal assuming the steering rack is in better shape than my 300K one. Trans looks very nice inside.

    Damn..

I need to find a r150f for the possible tundra manual swap. Or the other frame... one of them will be an manual.

I'd immagine you don't want a standard in something you're going to tow with

It's probably that I'm just bad as driving a standard but slow speed parking lot type manuvering made that much harder would suck personally

I thought manuals were ideal for towing, at least as far as not having to worry about trans temp goes.

I’ve found towing with a gasser, manuals are great...

Yes, but the r150 first gear isn't all that low for towing in my humble opinion with the little experience I have with it

The one dodge diesel with a standard I drove had a granny gear, a gear lower than 1st for when you've got a trailer starting up a hill so you don't slip your clutch any or neglegably more than starting in 1st unloaded

In high range i found it kinda shitty to pull my camry out of a couple inch rut my cars tire fell into with my buddy's 5 speed 4runner

I'd immagine on longer trips having to manage the clutch every stop would get old

You don’t need a stupidly low gear for towing. Unless your towing ALOT. But my tundras max payload, I don’t need a stupid low 1st

True I bet a full size manual (back when those were a thing) were probably designed with towing in mind, I don't think the Tacoma was in either trans configuration

I could see how having a heavy load behind you would result in some clutch slippage in 1st with a Tacoma at least, hell I can tell a big difference just with a lot of weight over the bed. A heavier duty clutch might help IDK

There's that guy that tried to do a five-point u-turn when he accidentally went up towards M&M Trail that night....and almost put his family in a deep ditch.

In a taco a granny gear would be needed. No matter what the 2uz has enough torque is want a HD Clutch. I may or may not do the swap, but I know the conversion bellhousing exist. Just depends ultimately on if a shift kit fixed the trucks annoying cold 4-5 shift flare or not. It’s a known issue with the a750f. So we’ll see
