    Spot on!

What is really nice is having options, and lots of them with Tacomas. Try that with the Honda "van/truck" thingy called the Ridgeline.

    Speaking of sliders....

I have a Protools HD manual tube bender with a few dies I've used for building sandrail and baja bug cages with. I will be ordering another die soon that I can bend 1.75" tube with so I can build myself some sliders with.

To offset the cost of the die, I may offer up some limited prep work for anyone in the PNW that likes to fabricate, but doesn't have or need to purchase a tube bender, but would like to design and build their own sliders.

What I was thinking, is sourcing some mild steel 1.75" DOM tube and bend to spec what you need to trim down and build your own sliders from.

This would be a really economic way to build your own sliders. All the other parts are plate and straight pieces of round or square tube.

So if you have or have access to some fabrication tools but not a bender, this might be of help to you.

Again, I am just tossing this around right now as an idea and have no plans to start a business. I just like to have my tools pay for themselves over time.

Worse if you've got antennas and awnings and shit on yours. Unless, obv, you take the time to unbolt everything in which case it's just a pain, not an off balance pain. :p

Quite a few things at this point..
Got the new wheels and tires on, even took them out to dirty them up! 255/85r16 Yokohama Geolandar M/T G003's (skinny 33's, these measure 33.2"). Loving it :D

You can build some horses that are a few inches taller than your bedside rails. Then unbolt everything and get in an pop the grip on current seals.

Lift the front side and have someone slide a 2x4 in and across the bed rail, and then set the canopy front back down on it. Do the same for the rear end.

Move your horses into position and lift the 2x4s on the front and slide your horses under the 2x4s. Repeat on the rear. Carefully drive out from under the canopy.

The other option I've seen done is to back another Tacoma up straight behind the one getting new seals. Do the 2x4 thing to support the canopy on. Then with 4 dudes, walk the canopy back and temporarily stage it on the other truck rails while getting the new seals in place on the original truck.

    Those look slick!
I was torn on buying the Geolanders or a new set of Toyo Open Country ATIII, ultimately the price and the fact that I previously owned the Toyos made my decision. The Geolander looks very aggressive. I like the sidewalls.

True. I was looking at the ATs in both. I primary drive highway. I was just saying I was considering the Geolanders as well.

I decided to go MT this time for a couple reasons, 1) PNW is mostly wet and muddy out on trails 9 months of the year (This is my DD but I do a lot of adventuring), 2) Kind of forced with the 255/85r16 options all being MT's and no ATs

Cooper ST Maxx is the only AT available in that size that I have considered, and having CMC done for 285's is pretty cheap compared to most of our other accessories.

I've been on the fence about going to 33's. Still on the fence about 255 vs 285 if I ever do. I'd probably want to regear to 4.88 if so.

I'm on dirt or snow as much as possible, but it's still a ton of highway driving to get to where I want to be.

I'd be curious as to what your studies show with regards to pavement performance and MPG.

I was on the fence for a long time too between 255 and 285. My final deciding point was mostly for the experimentation and science I'll get to do knowing most my Taco friends run 285 33s. I'm a physicist/engineer so I love this shit lol, especially when I get to do it with a hobby of mine. I'll definitely be keeping track of data and writing something up after I get some good mileage down on them.

Yeah. I think I'm gonna need to rig some 2x4s and build something and just use a floor jack to raise it up a bit.

Anyone know if Triangulation Point is accessible this time a year? I’ve never been and need to get out and about.

Made it almost all the way there this past week. Ironically turned around because of a fallen tree. Not much snow. If you can clear the tree you shouldn't have a problem making it there.
