I've had it about a month now. No major connection issues. Just have to restart the CarPlay app sometimes if it won't connect. I've actually found I really like the android interface as well. I have my music downloaded to Spotify and I can tether to my phone. For some reason Spotify podcasts won't play on android. So I've really only been using CarPlay when I want to crank up some Joe Rogan.

I’m looking at either the Joying or the Dasaita unit. I have an iPhone and want to use CarPlay. Any glitchy issues? What would you recommend?

When running a radio such as this, were you able to use the stock AUX connection. My AUX connection has been faulty so I'm looking at possible options.

Haven't had any issues, just have to restart the app occasionally if it won't connect.

I took out the AUX/USB and ran the two USB extensions that came with it down there. I glued them to the stock faceplate. Super easy and still looks stock.

Are you able to use the stock backup camera with any of these?

There is a way to hook it up. But mine is in the mirror, and I'm gonna need to add a new one when I get a tire carrier anyway. So I didn't mess with it.

Great to hear! You get that nice stock feeling with the addition of the new USB ports. Great thinking.

I have the Joying. I love it but I can't get the screen plate to snap onto the mounts. There is a slight gap when using my 2008 head unit mounts off my OEM CD changer

Does anyone have an idea if this will work with the TechDeck?

I don't see why it wouldn't the stereo surround is basically the same as stock.

I installed the stereo to take place of the need for a mounted tablet. Between the android running Gaia or Backcountry and the ability to use CarPlay/Android auto i'm covered.

I have my first major complaint. It may not matter for some people, but very annoying for me. I got a VGC N7500 ham radio. It pairs to a tablet and it's controlled by an android app. I was excited to use it with the stereo because of how slick of a setup it would be. After a few hours of messing with it and some research, it seems Joying has purposefully limited the bluetooth on their devices to a phone and and their OBDII reader. If you try to pair anything else it just won't. All that just to make you pay $15 extra for their OBDII dongle which I already bought. Nevermind the fact that I may want to use it for something else. I emailed their support. Their response was just "sorry other devices are not compatible". I've never been one to take no for an answer. So I'll update when I bend it to my will.

I don't see why it wouldn't. I'm making a custom ram mount plate for an additional tablet to run the HT app for my ham radio. I'm going to mount it to the right of the climate controls and make it slide in and out when I don't need it. I'll link to the thread for it when it's done.

Edit: Here's my low profile ram mount thread if anyone is interested:
    DIY Ram ball mount bracket
Less bulky than the Teck Deck and not in the way of the head unit. Less intrusive option overall I think.

Gotcha, Take a look at the VGC N7500. It does most of the advanced APRS functions for a fraction of the cost of the big 3. And it's super easy to use for a newbie ham like me. haha
Seems to get good reviews, but no long term use by me yet. Boy has it been fun to play with though.

Does this have the same issue as the dasaita with the hazard?
