Yea, I knew that was what you were asking about, just yanking your chain. They bird is Clyde, my gyrfalcon, and yes I am a falconer. Here is a better shot of him. Non-entry:

 

Did you know that a "gyrkin" is a male gyrfalcon, or just pieced together the similarities of the words?

 

A large black, gray, or white falcon (Falco rusticolus) that breeds in Arctic and subarctic regions and sometimes migrates to northern North America and Eurasia. It is highly valued in falconry. I never knew this

How do you train your falcons to return to you? They're birds they could just fly away.

 

My uncle was a big time falconer when I was a kid. He used me a bush beater all the time. But was a great time for me and super fond memories.

 

Keep them hungry.

 

You train them with food rewards, but mainly you become their friend. If they trust you, and like you, your golden. If not, you are going to have a rough go of it.

 

I legit thought you meant Gyr(falcon)-kin. Like some persons consider themselves dragon-kin or wolf-kin. Wasn't judging, just thought that's what it meant.

 

I thought he was named after a type of pickle...
