Yeah, gotta be careful with the Sailer. Sweeter than Captain but higher proof, it sneaks up on you! I've been sticking to Captain, Pussers and I recently picked up some other spiced rum I never heard of but was on sale at the liquor store. It's damn good, don't recall the name though.

Bleh, dark rum is nasty. Like drinking cough syrup. Clear rum on the other hand delicious.

Kraken is good dark, but recently I have emptied a few bottle of captain pineapple rum.

I love dark rum but the sugars in it give me a terrible hangover, so a few sips is all I ever do. It's either whiskey, gin or vodka for me if I want to tie one on.

I can't stand clear rum, I like the spiced versions. I need some flavor!
    What's your gin of choice?

Captain's and ginger ale are great together. It tastes like birch beer soda.

Yeah, my mother is a lifelong Bacardi drinker, so in high school I had too many bad nights after poaching from the liquor cabinet. So any clear rum is right out for me. Insta-puke.

For gin, my favorite is Tanqueray Rangpur. It's got the lime infusion and I like gin gimlets. Otherwise I'm a fan of Barr Hill when I'm making a gin and tonic, but again, it's sweet due to the honey, so no getting hammered on it or hangover central.

It took me until just a few years ago to realize that anything with sugar in it will get me hungover, and at this age it can take 2 cocktails to ruin tomorrow. So no jack and coke, no rum and coke, no margarita (unless Jamaican style, those I love)... basically I have come to realize the very best thing on earth is top shelf whiskey with water, nothing else. No whiskey and ginger... no mixers other than water or just ice!!

Or maybe it's like something in between birch beer and cream soda.
    Anyways it is delicious!

For mixing I usually go fairly cheap, lately it's been New Amsterdam. But for sipping gin I've been on a Hardshore kick lately. Before that it was Cold River or Bombay Sapphire/Sapphire East

This. They add Rosemary to their botanicals and it makes for a great sipper.

It's good. Kind of syrupy, but good flavor. I personally prefer Bacardi 8 or Pyrat over CMPS, but it's good now and then over some ice to dilute some of the sugar

Next time I borrow a friend's trailer, I'll try to check. I suspect I'd see a slight voltage difference in the battery when it's being sent power versus when it isn't.

My '18 would warn that the trailer battery wasn't charging if I shut the engine off and left the trailer hooked up, so the fact that the message would go away when the engine was running made me believe it was working.

It is amazing.......well well worth it. Just do this, buy a bottle, take a tumbler glass with some ice, pour in 3 oz's, wait 5 minutes to let it slowly cool (don't shake or stir it) and just sip it. If you don't like it, i will buy the rest of the bottle off of you for the price you paid for it. It is that good. No mixing it with anything. It is that sweet and smooth.
