I can agree but disagree. When I spend money on my rig it makes me happy and when I'm happy I wheel better.

That prerunner didn't make it up farther than I did sorry to tell you that, didn't even come close. Every person there that has been there and done that said that's the farthest they've seen a tacoma make it. One even said that's the hardest he's ever seen someone hit that trail. No but having the balls to know what you'd have to do to even have a chance at making an obstacle like that and then committing to it especially knowing that if I slid right it was going to flop. The other DCLB there made it about the same as I did just on a day where the conditions were better.

BTW Brian has more in his truck than you think he does. Oh the night before I was helping him swap LCAs.

No and I hope that I never become that complacent in winching that I let my guard down for that to happen.

Yes crawling he got further. I also tried to crawl it. I couldn't get that far crawling. His gearing is much better for crawling which on that obstacle is what's needed if you are gonna crawl it. Probably should of made that distinction then.

I should also add that context is key. I was talking with and to the guys that were there and that knew all that went down so they knew I tried crawling so my comment about him crawling it better than me made sense to them.

I'm conflicted. Obviously I love when this thread devolves into a bunch of chimps throwing their own feces at each other, but I don't know who to root for on this one. I generally get along with @ovrlndkull but I wouldn't call the way he attacked that hill "offroading", more of a Rock Bouncer approach which the truck clearly is not. Outcome was expected. On the other hand, I tend to go against @FadedComa because I don't like it when people shave their face with a funnel on their chin. @3milecreek has really come out of left field on this one so I don't really know where I lie on his point of view. But he came in really hot so I'm going to vote asshole. I'm all over the place with this one, not ready to pick a team just yet.

So your assessment of how I attacked Boat Ramp is correct. I'd argue that rock bouncer style for big hills is a form of offroading. Especially since KOH combines that along with crawling and Baja all in one race. But that's just our different definitions of a sport that covers a gauntlet of different aspects.

The last part about picking sides well that's on you, Skip don't care about sides. Actually I could care less about optics for a lot of situations in which rumors are spread and I get messaged about. I know where those rumors originate and I don't even care to entertain the questions about it.

Anyone know where I might find Pork Belly in town? I want to try smoking some homemade bacon next weekend but I have not seen it in the grocery store. May ride down to Peach Stand this weekend and see if they have it.

I forget the name of the butcher I went to to get the hog for the meat meet that one year but it wasn't far from you. They had everything.

Start calling butcher shops and hope they keep it on hand. Most shops now days dont.

Better to call first than make the drive for nothing.
