Does it actually exist in any capacity? Marlin is notoriously bad about announcing a product, selling one or two then dropping it entirely. I saw they made one for the runners and 3rd gen tacoma but I don't see that you could actually get hands on one.

They are taking pre-orders now and expect to have the first batches shipping like next month or so I think. But yeah, I know what you mean about aking forever before releasing something. They really like to build up the hype early on.

Ah well it's good they're finally gonna sell a couple. Gotta imagine that's gonna be a just in time produced item with that base price of $7k, most wheeling rigs don't cost that much when purchased haha

Yeah, with everything you need to run the RCLT kit, total cost is on par with doing a nice SAS swap. So around $10k +

Only if you're not doing it yourself haha, could come in under the base $7k with a 3/4link yourself easily

Yeah, I'm thinking with the cost of bigger tires, all the shit that needs fabbed up and going full coil setup on the SAS, like @esxcli has done. That runs up towards $10k and higher, depending on the parts you use. I know doing SAS can be done a lot cheaper if you go with leafs and keep it super simple too. Like it could literally be done for a few grand with junkyard parts and some skill with a welder.

I could see going over 10k if you're doing front and rear, but fabrication yourself (including the new section of front frame), even a really nice setup (used axle still cause why would you need new) should be well under $7k with a nice 3 or 4 link with coilovers (or air shocks if you're a degenerate) and some large tires.

True. Yeah, IFS just ends up costing a lot more in the long run over solid axles really. The marlin kit they actually price out for you with all the extras that are needed, not including whatever tires you run, and it comes in at just under $12k for the complete swap. I do like the idea of having a well built IFS setup that can handle 40" tires and some serious rock crawling type stuff. They've run the Rubicon on the RCLT kit with their test mule 2nd gen Tacoma.

Junk yard 1 tons must have REALLY gone up in price since I bought my last Dana 60 front end then! Of course, that was 20 years ago...

What housing are you factoring in that expensive? I've dropped the idea of SAS entirely, doesn't fit how I like to wheel really. But last time I had no issue finding Dana 60s and Sterlings used (lotta ford wrecks) and even with fox 14" 2.5 coilovers and dual springs I was barely touching 6K, steel included (i know that price has gone up a bit)

Used to be I could go to the Pick N Pull and grab a GM 14 bolt full floating rear and then find a D60 front and be out of the yard for about $500.

Colorado tax on wheeling looks like its beginning to match the influx of CA transplants haha. Still cheaper than that here.

Probably cheaper and easier to buy a complete 1 ton truck that was wrecked and rob the parts and sell the rest.
