Anyone running these beefy CV axles?

Found these guys on Orielly's website as well as RockAutos (though they seem to be gone from there as of posting this). I've never seen them before. Wondering if anyone is running them and if so how do they work? I know most of the problem with CV's is the joint, not the shaft, it's hard to tell if the joint is any more skookum. I'm pretty tempted by these guys but want some input 1st. Thanks!

I bought a pair to replace my own cv axles as the inner boots on both tore up after some wheeling.

I do run 2" of lift so it was inevitable. Below you can see what I mean -





Seeing as how OEM remans are getting harder to find, not to mention being expensive, I opted to try these bad boys out -







I had heard about them not only on some forums but found a guy or two I follow that wheel pretty hard with their 4R that run these. I figured, if it's good enough for them with larger tires than mine (I run 33's), then they'll definitely work for me.

You have my attention, ive blown through multiple cv boots and cv joints in the last 5 years and again have to do another one soon. If these are as good as the look im going to get a pair.

 

If you're running OEM axles, I'd suggest you get those high angle inner cv boots.

 

Drivers side is the original axle that has had multiple boots tore and the other is an aftermarket shaft because the original one had a cv fail under... harsh circumstances.

Just wanted to give you an update after having these CV axles on both sides for a few months -



I've been on a few wheeling trips from Hollister Hills to Bald Mountain in Shaver and in between.

Now, the above pic is what I found yesterday when I reinstalled my factory skid plates. The scratch looks a bit old, but I don't know if it correlates at all with my last alignment versus the new alignment I received about a month ago since a neighbor hit my truck while it was parked and knocked my alignment off.

I say this, because it was the passenger side's wheel that got the alignment knocked since the neighbor crashed into my passenger side only.

Anyway, it's only the passenger side that rubbed and now I check it often and it shows no new rubbing at all. Seems it happened at some point where there was a lot of compression and I was climbing something? Hard to say.

 

For a few months now.

But I think the only interference I've run into was due to my 4R getting hit at the parking lot a few weeks ago.

It was parked and just hard enough at the right angle to knock my alignment off.

Pretty sure that's when my CV axle rubbed until I got the 4R aligned again days later.

 

Like I told someone else the other day, I was going faster through the whoops that I care to admit...been great.

 

Could be that I've got 3 OEM ADD axles at home that I'm not too worried if I broke one of these.

That and they have lifetime warranty.

 

You can just run OEM for life then

Damn thats a pretty cool design. Wonder why regular splines wouldnt work though. The roller spline seems excessive in terms of complication and weight (and cost probably)

No...dude uppers are tooooo far from any CV axle

Rubbed the coil at compression when my alignment got knocked out after a small fender bender.

 

rubbed the coil on the Kings on the pass side
