I'm not aware of any places in MN that make them. Some shops might make a one off set for you but Id just go with someone whos been making them. RCI is out of Loveland Co. You could take a road trip to pick them up. Or C4 Fab is in Black Hawk SD.

I did not know about them but after watching the video of them dropping their 4runner from 2 feet onto the slider:eek: They seem super legit!

No, we're done with that place.

I've got a few good contacts in WI and MN though if someone wants though.

Also, not to change the subject, but what kind of road rubber are folks running? I’m 90% daily driver, light/moderate off-road on weekends. Forest service mainly, but occasional trips to the UP, Dakotas, and Canada. My stock wranglers are near the end of their life and would love to get something better suited for the moderate trails that still isn’t terrible in show or daily driving. No lift on my rig, stock suspension, not looking to do any major cutting at this point. Any advice or thoughts highly appreciated.

I think any tire will work just fine on forest service and minimum maintenance roads unless they happen not to be plowed. They are roads after all. Beyond that there is no lack of people on this forum that will plug their favorite all-terrain or mud-terrain tire. I've been happy with both the stock wrangler A/Ts and my Dick Capek M/Ts, but I would never suggest the M/Ts for your indicated use case.

Your call on summer tires as just about anything will do for that.

For winter I’ll push the snow tires. Have had decent success with Blizzak DM-V2s but the lateral stability hasn’t been as good as what I expected from my past history with Blizzak WS90s on my Subarus. Maybe it’s just characteristic of the truck. Either way I’m going to give the Nokia’s Hakkappellita LT3s a shot next.

Summer. I had the Hankook ATMs they were pretty okay. Then with the taco and got the Cooper AT3. The Hankooks were a bit better than the cooper in snow, but the AT3s were no slouches.

We had the c-range AT3s and our first trip with them took a 1” long chunk out of a sidewalk in some slate in MT. 4yrs later of airing down, crawling in rocks and muck across the Rockies with the Habitat and full camp load, no failure.

This time we went a touch more aggressive with a Toyo Open Country AT III in e-rated, and they are fantastic in what I’ve put them through... everything short of snow and ice. I’ve recommended them over the previous tires I’ve run.

On edit: I didn’t mean to say the Toyos suck in snow/ice. Our Taco is stored for winter. So no opportunity to test the tire in those conditions.

One thing to consider is whether you want to run the same tires year round or have multiple sets for different conditions. Some people have a set of summer tires and a set of winter tires. I decided to go with a set of daily driving tires (stock Wrangler A/Ts) and a set of adventure tires (Dick Capek M/Ts). Then covid19 restrictions were applied and I no longer commute to work and thus the adventure tires have not come off yet.

I've been following the Toyo AT3 thread and they've been getting great reviews from people and on ice/snow as well. I wish they were a bit more aggressive looking though. I'm debating between them and the standard KO2s. Either way I'm looking at probably running dedicated winter tires next year.

As for size, the biggest you can run on stock suspension is 265/75R16 on OR wheels or 265/70R17 on Sport wheels, if you want to avoid modifications.

Its a Taco anything with decent tread will get you most places you want to go. My Wranglers were great and Then I bought a set of rims and tires so I've been on Cooper AT Maxx E range for a year which is kind of between a AT and MT, they are loud and hard but perform flawlessly on all trails I've been on. I daily my truck to but only drive 8 miles round trip to work so ill probably stick with something more aggressive but If I were doing like 20+ miles a day I would stick with an AT with low road noise.

Plenty of people have reported that 255/85/r16 and 255/80/17 fit without modifications. I'm running them myself without any trimming, but I also have SPC UCAs and ~5 degrees of caster. Before the caster adjustment, I had rare rubbing while turning and being stuffed. The problem with the size is that there are very few tire choices and most are load E M/Ts.

EDIT: "turning and being stuffed at the same time" (just in case that wasn't clear)

And they are more expensive then a 285s or even some 295s

I can’t answer that question without shopping around, but I think price is comparable.

There are two different patterns. The P-series and LT. Most pictures online/shops are id the p-rated. The LT has more aggressive side walls and a more squared shoulder.

Thank you. Trying to find a spare right fender so I can cut in a snorkel.

This was last fall before she got mothballed for the winter.
