You ever try Aviation or Brockmans? I’ve been enjoying them recently.
Hell of a sales pitch! I’ll have to give it a try but i’m keeping the bottle, i’ll find something to do with it!

Aviation yes, Brockman's no. Aviation was pretty good, but the Cold River is a little less or Hardshore is like $3 more, and I like both of them more. :notsure:

I haven't tried either of those yet, might have to give them a go. Brockmans is I guess you'd say has a more fruity flavor to is, especially for a gin. Aviation is a little more neutral, maybe slight juniper flavor but not like drinking pine needle tea.

That's what I like about Hardshore; the Rosemary changes the flavor profile considerably. A little spicier and almost 'meatier' if that makes any sense. Goes great on the rocks and makes a nice break from the standard gin flavor. The Cold River on the other hand is definitely a strong, traditional gin. Lots of juniper. Aviation kind of reminded me of Bombay Sapphire; definitely gin but nothing overpowering.

You will not be sorry I recommended it sir. When you sip it for the first time, the first thing you are going to think to yourself is "ok, this can be dangerous."

A buddy of mine got us to go to Hardshore distillery in Portland, I like gin and fell in love with it first sip. Was not what I expected at all. Had 2 friends with us, that didn't want to go, but agreed if we went to one of their favorite breweries after. We did not make it to drink beers that night.

Ill have to remember the Rosemary next time I have a bottle.

Greetings from Westford MA. I am a long time tacoma owner, bought an 01 new and drove it for 15 years (determined to get 20 years out of it) until I got rear ended by a lady on her phone in a Tahoe (totaled)... Bought a new 16 sport and it has been perfect since.

But enough about me, my 15 year old is in the market for a 2nd gen for his 1st vehicle. He has been saving his pennies for years and we have an agreement that I will match what he saves towards a truck.

Anyone know of a resonable 2nd gen? prefer a V6 with 130K miles or less... Let me know if you know of anything in new england.

    Thanks, Jeff

Depends on the truck, everything seems fairly overpriced. 10-12Kish

Its just the going rate for v6 trucks unfortunately. Try to find an 07 or newer, 05 and 06 had some motor issues and engine mount issues (which would have been fixed with a frame replacement). The 2005 double cab short I had, had 219k miles when I bought it for $8500

My wife and I do infused rums, typically banana vanilla. Rule of thumb - the cheapest glass bottle. Plastic is :puke: but since we're putting in our own shiz and mixing it with a simple syrup anyway, not worth getting the top shelf stuff.

    So far we've done:

    • Banana Vanilla. This is the high runner. If you go to the caribbean, specifically the french side of Saint Martin, after dinner (....and lunch....) they'll bring typically this one around for a digestif. So we had a lot of this and then decided to try our hand at making it on our own. :notsure:
    • Mojito. Basically a mojito....just much stronger. Funny story, we went to a wife's friend's housewarming once, and me and that girl's boyfriend at the time sat on the back porch - he polished off a bottle of the BV and I polished off a bottle of the Mojito. I don't remember most of that night after that
    • Blueberry Pie. Blueberries and sugar cookie tea (herbal tea??) combined, this one is a killer. This one sneaks up on you, we are not allowed to make this one anymore for 2 completely different groups we have brought this to.
    • Pineapple Mango
    • Similar to above, just a ton of tropical fruits - we've probably done a half dozen varieties of mango, pineapple, ect
    • Candy cane - good for the holidays, this one is easy, less simple syrup and just drop a candy cane in
    • Jolly rancher - same as above, just drop 'em in
    • Gingerbread - good, but strong flavor of gingerbread.
There's probably others I can't remember off the top of my head. Future plans: Strawberry cheesecake, Peach Pie, Chocolate Cake/Chocolate...We have a few ideas :D

    Welcome Jeff!

....I know this is a Tacoma forum, but uhhhh have you looked at the frontiers? Great trucks as well, but cheaper. When I bought they were really in the contest just because I could have saved about 10 grand and gotten pretty much the same truck less android and apple shenanigans, which you can get for 1k for a nice head unit. And, I could go without it. Also, adaptive cruise, which was also a requirement, but now is not.

....Shiiiiit I might trade in for a frontier soon

Has anyone ever owned these stupid running board things before? I hate them but the new truck is too tall for me. I see ones that mount to the rocker panel, just wondering if that kind are ok or should I find something that mounts to the frame?

Get the ones that mount to the rocker panel. The bottom of the body is tapped to receive them and they are plenty strong enough. That's where the OEM ones mount to. If you go OEM, I'd avoid the chrome ones, they scratch very easily. I actually like the OEM black plastic ones, they seem to be holding up pretty well.

Not really crazy about infused stuff. About the wildest I go for would be variations on 'oak' 'peat' or 'gin'
