Right. Plus, it'd be more wiring

I feel the same way about running boards though; I'd love a power step for that combination of a clean look and short legs assist. But they're definitely $$. If I was spec-ing a new truck I'd just skip the factory running boards and put a couple hundred more into a set of powered ones.

No, mine are plastic. They have steel supports and some supplemental steel to give them rigidity, but they're a plastic surface. The ones you linked are metal with a powder coat finish. They might be fine, but they're definitely different than the OEM ones.

Hmm. I can't seem to find an online catalog of the OEM parts accessories.

    Got it. Freakin' cookies.

EDIT: Don't look like any plastic ones for my 2020 are from Ford.

I bet if you're searching for anything that came stock on a Lariat, you're going to only find chrome or painted ones. I don't think they put the plastic ones on a Lariat, only the lowly XL and XLT models for us peasants. The painted ones aren't bad either, they held up pretty well on my F150 but, line anything painted, they will chip over time.

No, I just put in 2020 F150 they show a dozen options, they are all metal or aluminum. I like the idea of something plastic or plastic covered because the steps look like shit when they rust and they get hammered by road debris.

This is all just for F150, I never specified the trim: https://accessories.ford.com/vehicles/f-150/2020/exterior/running-boards-and-step-bars.html

    get taller

frame mounts would be sliders and be overkill. And also more expensive. And a pain in the ass to install and remove if they need to be touched up for paint/etc.

it works for rum, I like flavored whiskeys too. But some stuff you don’t want to flavor. Like good rums. But I also just drink mine meat.

Headgasket and oil pump failure were more common but not consistent during those first 2 years of the new motor at the time

The ones I'm talking about aren't listed on that page. If you go to Ford.com and build an XL or XLT truck, they're listed as 'Black Platform Running Boards' and are a $250 option. They look like the 6" angular running boards on that website except they're all black and plastic. I can snap a photo of the ones on my truck when I go out. The 250 running boards are the same but the bracket is taller (meaning the boards sit lower to the ground so they'll look a little different).

Agreed..my dad could be the same, though he was just trying to bust my balls. It's more the personal satisfaction at least.

    Stripper pole..

But seriously, just wooden inserts for the organizers are cheap enough to just buy for a buck or 2

I'm polishing off the last of a bottle of JD Honey right now. Not much left, might last me the night but might pop open Birddog Blackberry (that's the good stuff)

....Yes, my drinking habits are those of sorority girl. I would find a joking picture of a sorority girl to post BUT I am currently on my work computer and am NOT going to google THAT one.
