my point is the 2 (science and religion) are not that far apart. most of what we think we know gets changed as we learn more. so we have to have faith in a lot of things. i have faith that science will change it's mind again and again and again.

let me put it this way, if believing in god helps a person feel better then how it is a bad thing? if it does nothing for you then great but why push either one on the other person? why try to tell a person there is no god when believing in one makes them happier or gives them hope in hard time?

when a person tries to make others feel stupid for there beliefs, that person is in the wrong period.

i have not said weather i believe in a god or not, but i would also not mock a person or try change their mind about what they believe. that is up to them not me. my statements about science are just to try to point out that science requires some amount of faith also and science does change it's mind.

if we take what the op was it was nearly a comic trying to get laughs or stir the pot as comics do, when was the last time a comic had a successful career being nice to everyone.

no i do not have exact examples: but a generic answer would be what science knows about, space, black-holes, even prehistoric animals, and the history of mankind. these are all ideas that have changed since i was in school. the "scientific facts" as taught when i was in school have now changed. that being said is it possible that in the future science will prove there is a god? for now science is even divided if there is or isn't a god. all i am trying to say it is take faith on both sides period.

Lurid title....perfect timing....it is what it is. You can have the last word here-I'm done. My point is moot now, I have stated my feelings, and krazie got what he wanted. Absolutely nothing you say will change what his real intentions were and I will call out whoever decides to harrass good people here:) I couldn't care less about your take-spirits and demons. Bringing up the barbaric times of old is a weak argument. Who is practicing barbarism presently?
Lost humanity-why call yourself that? Just curious.

This thread is like many other threads around here, some think Obama is Hitler, that healthcare is best left to the people not the government etc... You may be right (about any one of these topics) or you may be wrong. But why does this get discussed is a tacoma forum? Now I know I did read it (along with quite a few others obviously) so that justifies your post.
Last time I read a few political threads I did not check the site for 3 months because I was frustrated we were not discussing off road lights, kings, or diff breather mods. Well sometimes a break is good I guess.

And yes I did see its in the off topic forum so I should expect off topic discussion.

Well at least i know where im going when I die. I believe that there is something for me after this life.

Even if Christianity was was not real, at least im not a selfish, oneway drunk that only wants to have sex with other women.
I strive to be respectful, loving and truthful to all. I'd rather die loving and helping others my whole life, rather than just serving my own self.

I could write so much more....

I know. I believe I said this earlier.

Assumed intentions aside, nobody called anyone out in the original post. You're reading into things and drawing your own conclusions.

The Congolese? They have rape-gangs and practice cannibalism. The Iranians execute people for speaking out against the government. Catholic priests molest little boys. Gang-bangers shoot up strip malls and kill innocent mothers and children. Corporations step on the backs of their employees to earn an extra return for investors to afford that house in the Hamptons. Pick your barbarism.

Because of people like you who want to control others methods of thinking and living. And because of the over-stimulized, hyper-marketed, vacuous commercialized narcissistic image of the self which passes as the cultural standard in the world.

More so because of the over-stimulized, hyper-marketed, vacuous commercialized narcissistic image of the self which passes as the cultural standard in the world than the former.

Some stuff. Not a lot, just some.
    AMEN!!! Preachit brother!!!!
I see your point here. Religion has also changed it's mind again and again. That's why there are two versions of the Bible (actually there are more, just using the Old and New Testaments as example)
Agree here also. I will never push my ideas on someone just I wish someone would not push theirs on me. However, I do find pleasure in discussing the differences.
Bill Cosby had a succesfull career. What was asked of Ricky was his opinion. And he gave it. Ricky is blunt and to the point. No cherries on top, no frills, no sprig of garnish; it's served raw. That is who he is. Straight forward and to the point.
There is a lot of faith when it comes to dinosaurs. Do they actually no what color they were? NO, but they have faith they looked like this or that based on present day animals that live in the same climate regions.

Blackholes and such, that's was all theory based on mathethics at one time. Now, as technology changes, so do the theories and even the mathematics.

If God created man, why did he create man that did/do not know of him?
