I've actually not worn these. I typically wear chucks maybe sometimes just running shoes. Thought about getting a pair forever but meh

It wasn’t good, hip gave me some serious problems squatting so I called it and just stretched and did some belt squats and other leg accessories, but I looked Hetero as fuck doing it.

I'm happy the weather is getting better. Was able to take a long lunch and get in an 8 miler with hubs today.

My running schedule is doing just fine. Not so much adhering to a lifting schedule :(

I can feel the lack of lifting though. Hopefully I get my shit together on that soon. :fingerscrossed:

I am DL 225 3x10 and squatting just over 200lbs though. Pretty comfortably as well. So despite the total lack of discipline I'm still improving post knee surgery. If I actually applied myself I might actually be semi decent for a runner.

You should cue that hip drive like T says; you are setting up as if it is a deadlift which cues lower back. Have it in your mind like this is the top half of a full rep not a deadlift from a higher start. I’d think about loading the hips as you get tight

and they are way easier. Pulling from the floor sucks. Lol.

Those are the wrong shoes. These will help give you that upward thrust you're looking for.

    Just over 1 year ago.

Still struggling with some minor deficits (primarily quad activation for fast movements) but I’d say I’m 90% there.

How long did it take after your knee surgery to be as good as you were going to be?

I’ve been told 2 years is pretty much the full recovery mark.

I was younger that you are I think, but by 6-8 months I was basically back playing rugby and in the gym full time...by a year I was stronger than prior probably. That said, I rushed to get back on the field and never got my left hamstring back all the way...it still doesn't activate the way it should, but I developed compensations. :(

    :(
I hope I can recover more than I am now but if I can’t, it is what it is. Life isn’t perfect.

I’m pretty good with gross movements, like squat, DL, leg press etc. I’m just lazy and need to lift heavier.

If I were to be on a technical trail with a steep downhill and need to quick step to navigate rocks and roots that quad is not as responsive.

Or, just adjust your notion of your pre-surgery self. Lol...seriously, I was chatting with my spouse the other and I am now having to think of things in "recent personal bests" as I am almost certain I will never be stronger than I was in my mid-late 30s. It's a bit of a mindfuck, but what can you do....the decline comes for us all.
