Alright... so... the dyno was a bust today. The place had technical difficulties aaaaaaand that’s that. They couldn’t get their software to work properly and this was all after I drove 1.5 hours to get there.

Just a stellar day I’ve had. STELLAR.

The problem w a BTF tune is, they never tell you mpg. By far the best tune I've ever had, including the vapor-ware tune from the OEM. Way better mpg and power than I've ever seen.

I'm not dog piling here, I'm just curious what's your normal temp? Also, what temp does your thermostat open?

Pic is from today, normal freeway driving and short street drives, m&w tune.

Keep in mind this is with an aftermarket trans cooler. Aftermarket rad fan and oil change less than 500mi ago.

LOL! I'm still new at this stuff...I think at 206 and climbing I said enough and pulled over, I was doing a 10 mile test run on steep hills. Toyota tough!

Yup. My 16 never ran less than 185-200. Over 200 was not out of the ordinary.

No worries I thick skin...normally I run around 191 to High 196. In my early days of tuning I was so afraid of screwing things up and when I seen trans temps climb over 206 I freaked! I know you can go a lot higher BUT I thought 206 in 10 mile I screwed something up as a precaution I reflashed.

You're good buddy. I've been as high as 240 unloaded at idle with a heat soak in a drive through, I was so nervous, I turned on the heater. Hence all my upgrades. I think 200 is what toyoter intends their trans to run at. Nothing scientific, but seeing as how they have a trans oil "heater", I think 200 is pretty accurate.

I agree. Only because I’m not educated enough on engine tech to truly be at peace with the sound, hence why I’m only doing it once.

However, I did have my gauge hooked up and the numbers were good with “0” misfires and nice fluid temps. Also, the feeling of the RPMs was very smooth. Just seemed more like a super minor fuel cutoff as far as feeling at that moment of redline at 7k.

So what's the plans for a Kruiser 5.0, or is the tune mainly just going to receive minor revisions this point on?

Just wondering what the goal is now that 4.0 has been praised so well.

Headwork, cams, pistons, real merge collector tuned EL headers (not the borla stamped crap), sheet metal intake manifold with velocity stacks and see how much torque this engine can make with a tune? Tune the primaries and stacks for 3500rpm and make it a mid range torque monster!

...If only time and $ were not a thing.
