Just wondering, is there a difference between the KD performance and the mild and wild community tune?

 

Yes. I do not want to get into specific changes between my tunes and others.
When I started working on the tune, I wanted a tune that would be peppy in 1st-4th but hold 5-6 on the highway for better mileage. The tunes are similar in 1-4, very peppy.
I also made Cruise Control use different shifting maps. I hated the way Cruise Control downshifted, then upshifted so much.
Then I started adjusting shift points, air load tables and torque maps to get the shifting as predictable, and smooth as I could.
There is also some more fuel/air changes, but I do not want to get specific.

 

Does your tune raise the rev limiter? Looking at the dyno chart it looks like your tune revved 400-500 rpm higher?

 

Yes. Raised to 7000 rpm.

 

Thanks. If I am ready the chart correctly, stock is 6200, OVT is 6300, and yours is 7000 (as you mentioned)?

 

Just flashed your tune for 0b433 and can’t wait to try it. Does S mode and ETC still work the same as stock or have those been reworked? Thanks.

Yes it will pass no issues!

Yes they work the same as stock.
I have the ability to make it gearlock when in ECT+S mode, but that is a special request and you will lose ECT function.

 

Next time you are headed out to Az let me know. If you can stop in Blythe and tune the Blue Taco, I'm in. Do I need to buy a tune kit or just pay for the tune. I am an old school, bolts, nuts and wrenches kind of guy.

Where are you guys located in CA? I’m in upstate NY Hudson Valley. Might be coming west in late May with the truck (2016 OR) to visit my daughter in San Diego. I’m looking to get it tuned. You have anybody in NY that does it? Not sure to go with 87 or 91. Not sure 91 is readily available when traveling.

Octane is your choice truck will run very strong on 87 and 91 will give you max performance. We maybe able hook you up with a tuner near you. I would hate to see you drive across the country without the tune!
