Not sure if I am doing this correct but hello to all. I recently traded in my 2004 Tacoma for a 2008 double cab, TRD, off road package, tow package, short bed Prerunner Tacoma. It is the pearl black with black factory wheels, coated gray aluminum running boards and the bed extender. I will try and post a picture, key word is try!!! Nice to join this forum, Happy Holidays to all!!! 2008 Tacoma6.jpg

    Welcome, nice looking truck!

From a quick glance, I don't think it is the "Off Road"... Never the less, it looks like a great truck. Enjoy.

Sorry, I have never seen an "off road" without color matched fenders flares. It must be a regional thing..

I bought the truck from a toyota dealer in Ann Arbor Mi. The truck was special ordered and owned by the nearby Toyota Tech Center and that was the previous owner. The truck was meticulously maintained by this nearby dealership. The truck does have some unique package that not to many came with (so I have been told). I would guess that being a corporate ordered vehicle they could have done just about anything they wanted to on the purchase order. I dont think it was a test vehicle, probably ordered for some executive. The trailer hitch, electric brake adapter and first aid kit had never been used and the truck looked like brand new. I am not sure if the running boards and bed extender are part of a package or not. The dealership did tell me they were surprised that they put on such nice expensive Michellin tires at around 30,000. Being a Corporate owned vehicle I am sure the cost was not an issue. The younger guys that I have run into are just totally crazy about this truck. I get almost as much attention from them as I do from the older guys when I drive my rare 1970 Boss mustang around. I dont know much about these trucks so any input would be great. Thanks Much!!! Mike

Yes flyby08 I think that is what they called it, I do have the printout sheet on it somewhere in the truck.

Yes they called it the rugged trail and that included the factory black coated wheels along with many other options.

Hey your truck looks great. Looks like the previous owner kept it up. I just purchased a 2011 double cab TRD sport and wanted a manual, but was forced to go with the automatic because I wanted the longer box. Have fun!
