Thanks Chaz, seems like you already know him though. You both seem to know what you are talking about.

I had a Tundra before my current Tacoma and a Tacoma before my Tundra. I agree with the idiot on many points and if I was building a truck for overlanding, it wouldn't be a Tacoma, it would be a Tundra. He was spot on about the price you pay for a Tundra being close to that of a Tacoma. That is exactly the reason I got the Tundra. I hated the Tundra, but because it was bigger and was severely lacking in features. However, If I was building something, the lack of features made it an easy upgrade to the things I would need if I planned on living out of it and the extra space would come in handy.

Random question, does anyone else ever wonder why people who don’t own or drive 3rd Gens feel the need to trash threads in this portion of the forum? Ha

Back to the topic, I read the article. It did nothing to change my opinion of my truck, but then again I don’t make decisions based on random opinions from ‘Internet columnists’.

    Like, so many.
    This was my biggest issue:
"For most of our readers, the best Toyota Tacoma is actually going to be a Toyota Tundra."

Well, it may not be a 3rd gen but I feel like if this guy did this type of stuff he'd appreciate the Tacoma for what it is.

I guess he assumes everyone with a 3rd gen is an overlander aka they drive on dusty roads on the weekend with 7000lbs of gear

I know, it’s all good though. I decided a long time ago to buy trucks which fit my needs, not an image. I have four trucks, two Toyota’s, one Ford and one Chevy. All fit a particular need or want in my life.

I read that too. For me that would have been true had I not wanted a 4wd truck which I could take on forest roads without risking serious cosmetic damage plus I found the interior of the current Tundra to be ten years out of date. The interior and gadgets are one of my favorite parts of my Taco.

The true meaning and understanding of "subjective" remains elusive on Tacomaworld.

Its ok to disagree with someone else's published opinion, the article is an editorial and is inherently an opinion.

Just remember that others are equally free to disagree with your opinion and restating said opinion makes it no more right or wrong, just redundant.

So you created a thread to give him more views?
You’re only empowering him. The internet is based on clicks. You just earned him a bunch. And you’re calling him the idiot?

He rustled your delicate sensibilities and made you emotional enough to start an entire thread dedicated to him. Congrats.

Also worth noting; summarize the article in your post so you can take away his power/clicks. But he rustled you so hard you couldn’t even be bothered.

    He wins.
