This dude @philth is so salty lol, its a casual thread jeezeeee

    Anyway
Tundras are so ugly compared to the taco. The author should have thought of that. :D
Also we need the tiny taco to fit down trails bruh :headbang:
I do like how he added up the weight of tacomabeast's rig though. Some of these instagram trucks look stupid heavy

    Lots--
Too much Overland Overkill is easy to hate on for sure. That point was decent as most tacos are Autos and do horrible without a re-gear with massive tires and weight.

What the author is saying is old Toyotas are better than new Tacomas and buyers of all trucks are idiots.

He has a factual error in his very first sentence. It tends to cast doubt on his other points, which I tend to agree with for the most part. It makes the article come across as erroneous and lazy.

That was standard ops at Jalopnik.

It used to be great for the comments, just like here. Until they were only left with shitty writers.

@Mattynokes is an idiot and not just because he doesn't like this article.

So, yeah, there was some hyperbole in the article, and I don't agree with him about the Tundra being a better platform. But he was not wrong. Spend a week reading forums on here and it's mixed with "Whats the biggest tire I can fit" to Broverlander builds, mixed in with complaints that the 3.5 has no power, bad shifting and bad gas mileage complaints. Thats 95% of the content in here. This article addresses that and does so fairly well.

Personally, I think it should be required reading for anyone who wants to mod their truck. Understand the real-world cost of those giant E rated tires, armor and bolting everything you own onto your truck. If that's your thing and you understand it, cool. But a huge percentage of people on here don't even know where to find their payload rating, let alone understand what it means.

I would agree with that, but there are well written posts / threads around here saying that same thing and not dripping with holier than thou BS. No one likes getting preached to when doing required reading. :D
