You think I should go with the the bigger tires or stick with what I’ve got? I am replacing the tires by the end of the summer regardless of what size I get, and the new tire I had put on as a result of the DoorDash curbing incident will be transferred to the spare...

This just made me remember Walmart’s “Rollback” campaign, with a Zorro-like character (maybe a human equivalent of Puss in Boots?) who’d go around slashing prices...

In the summer of 2001, we were living in Oak Harbor, Washington, and a bunch of our relatives came out for my dad’s change of command ceremony...

The Walmart was probably less than two miles from our house, and summers on Whidbey Island rarely got particularly hot (definitely shorts and T-shirt weather, and “turn on the A/C in the car when you’re on the highway” weather) but generally in the 70s with nonexistent humidity; Even today, most houses on Whidbey Island do not have central A/C...

So, instead of driving, a bunch of us walked to Walmart; I rode my Razor scooter, which at the time was less than a year old. My cousin from California, then just a couple months shy of turning 18 and the youngest licensed driver on my mom’s side of the family, became absolutely infatuated with my scooter; I gladly let her try it out at first, but after a while I got sick of her hogging my scooter.

The fact that she had a valid driver’s license and my dad had given her permission to use his Pathfinder further confounded me; Needless to say, on this trip to Walmart she found a Razor scooter just like mine but with red handlebars and wheels (mine was green). She wanted to buy it, but Razor scooters were still pretty expensive at the time, and her mom gave her the “save your money” lecture. That was when we saw the Zorro price slasher guy walking around in full costume; My cousin and I chased him down, he slashed the price on the scooter, and my cousin got her own!

I remember that price slashing character too. Recently found some old Walmart bags stuffed into a closet that were dark blue with yellow smiley face, those have to be about 20 years old.

Do you think there's something wrong with my truck that's causing my gas mileage to suffer, or do you think I'm just a leadfoot and the fact that gas contains so much ethanol doesn't help matters...?

Probably a combination of all of the above, if you get new tires to go with the lift then get an alignment too to make sure you are rolling straight down the road.

Last month, I ended up having a conversation with a couple of guys in a new Ford F550 rollback while were we both stuck at a really long light; The passenger told me he'd had a truck just like mine and that he'd achieved up to 36 MPG by installing a device called a hydrogen bubbler that mounts next to the gas tank. He said it was really easy to install; Has anybody heard of such a device, or installed on on their truck?
