We lost a lot of snow yesterday, same today but a little cooler, sun won’t help tho.

Maybe lost 5 inches? Deff anything we had gained from that storm.

ground is soft where it’s melted away, so guessing it will continue. Rain in the forecast.

Short winter, but what we had was at least solid.

    I'm not ready.
I am just getting warmed up. :angrygirl:
Will be heading out right after work today to grab a few turns.
(if it is not too icy. I hate sliding downhill on ice.)

Packed trails are icy on top, but the fresh stuff is still super soft, maybe too soft, but it is supposed to cool off at some point

Got a handful of chores done a little earlier today than I would normally start, was going to try to hit jiminy today. Not 100% into it mentally, and the more I thought about it...well why wouldn't they be icy too? People were complaining last week that it was starting to get icy, sure there was a little new snow, but a lot of packing and warmth...

Just gonna stay home, do a final trim on my plants and then knock out some tomorrow stuff and enjoy the weekend early.

You are making my case for hitting the package store on the way home much easier. :D
Thinking tomorrow may soften up a little more.
    Losing snow everyday now though.

Went to get some breakfast sandwiches from the food truck there.

some regulars said yesterday was amazing. Today was a little icy, two runs and leaving.

So I only took a few runs so far.....I was testing my fat powder skis (112 under foot) to see if I am ok only taking them on my trip to Alaska, or if I need to pack my daily drivers as well.

So, it definitely isn't soft, but had no issues putting a edge into the snow. Good edges, and carving vs sliding turns makes firm snow enjoyable.
Anyway, its still way more fun then chilling at home watching tv.

How many skis you got in there!

good firm snow is fun and fast I agree. I bet you see mostly ice by end of the night tho!

anyways, you’re right it’s better than nothing!

Atomic Reisterstown X9 (green in the drawer)
Atomic FIS SL (white/red in the drawer)

I come up here and meet my ski race friends on Thursday nights, so we are ok with firm/fast. Very few people on the trails or lifts currently.

    True dat.

I am lucky to have seen plenty in the woods. Most will never see a live one.
Very stealthy and nocturnal...for the most part. When I hunted Yotes, had a few fishers come into the call like it was the dinner bell. Seen big males pushing 20 pounds, and are capable of taking down a skipper in the Spring.

Even seen a few down my way in the watershed area I hunt near my place.

Two seasons ago in my archery stand, I watched a Redtail kill a squirrel.
Just out of sight I heard a big commotion, Hawk vs something.

Next thing I see is a Fisher running with a fresh squirrel..stolen from the Hawk.
Cool stuff you see in the woods.

Oh, and they are vocal when they want to be.

Well it firmed up pretty good! Have to say though, I had a awesome time. I pulled the GS skis. Very stiff, and razor blades for edges. The confidence I have in that ski is unreal. Lean it over and slice right into visually shiny sections of a trail at full commitment.

sounds like a fun night! I'm thinking about hitting it today, have some things to do right around open though, which is my favorite time.

I need to get some more pairs of skis so I can have fun in all conditions too!
