I love my 1up. I beat it up pretty good and it keeps on going. Another option is Rockymounts. I have one on my prius and really like it. For urban use on a car I would check out the rockymount. 1up is not as easy to get your bike on and off and is kind of overkill for around town and the occasional road trip. For reference I have owned Kuat, Thule, and Yakima racks too.

I have had my 1UP for about 7 years now...it is on 24/7, and has been great. I had Rockymount BrassKnuckle roof top racks on my old RAV4 and I liked them, but I feel that the 1Up is actually easier to use. The Rockymounts were "testy" in the cold...

I am really used to 74 HTA having grown up on te bikes in the 70's and 80's...I still ride my 88 Mongoose Californian Pro, and it is 74HTA, and 13.5-14 chainstay depending where the wheel is..I also ride my step sons SE Wildman, and it's 75 HTA felt wierd at first, but now I like it...his cs is closer to a 12.5 tho, and it feels weird to me, so I am thinking the Lairdframe might be a good mix of the 2 bikes

It's getting more and more common folks wear full face all the time.

This is almost my next helmet - but no glasses holders!

Basically! I’m excited after seeing that photo that there are actually going to be some jumps and tabletops I can learn on. Description only says 50+ machine built berms, which is cool, but I need to learn more than berms haha. 4miles 250ish feet of elevation isn’t much...so need some fun stuff.

Not sure on wood features. 50+ is a ton lol. I have only seen what I can from the road so I’m stoked to see what all’s there.

I will be working remotely in Brazil for the next 6 weeks. Lucky for me that there is a downhill trail nearby with some jumps and drops. I ride from the house and its maybe 10 minutes to the trailhead. But the climb is brutal in the sun.

EDIT: I googled the bike i'm riding and it's a 2015 GT force x expert carbon. I brought my 2020 Santa Cruz Tallboy C R, but my gf and I traded bikes as the GT force is better suited for how I ride. A friend lent her this GT bike back in December and he hasn't asked for it back. I've been thrashing this bike for a while and I never met this guy haha he seems real chill about it. The bike is really good. Cool looking bike too

That's hilarious. Not only how it's a borrowed bike but you also took it to another country. That's next-level borrowing lol

My gf has a house here and the family has a bike shop. So the friend is brazilian and I think he partially lives in this city. But I wouldn't be surprised if he was cool with us taking the bike to america haha he told me "I never rode the bike so its new. and i'm glad that someone is finally riding it. how do you like it?"
