Before I waste my time doing that, this is me checking my email for a new tracking number.

I got an ANOTHER update on this so called exhaust I ordered for her jeep.... hoping to ship 3-18-2021!!! I’m like my hole in the tailpipe is getting bigger and she gonna start noticing a noise!! I’m trying my to prevent such thing so I do t have to hear “I told you something wasn’t right with it” o_O They responded back to me through email and asked if I’d rather order something different.... all the exhaust Systems I found in my price ranger are back ordered!! :annoyed: I’m not an exhaust guy and we don’t have stainless laying around.... maybe I just take it to the exhaust shop up the street and have them fab something up.... waiting on there reply to see if it’s actually going to ship by 3-18-2021!!

Soup can fix - easy, cheap and can last a surprisingly long time sometimes.

Thanks! I have 3 days to officially answer them, I’ll have to look over the paperwork from their hr department to see what the benefits are, but it’s a $25k pay increase over what I make now so I think it would be foolish to turn it down.

    Great news, Cory!

I don't think you mentioned it but is the job in the same city or is a move in your future?

That's very cool! Sometimes I'd like to have a mill and lathe at home but then having the required shop space and all..? A few friends four if I count B-I-L have pretty nice shops if I ever needed something. But for you, everyone has to start somewhere. If you run into difficulties you can always ask, like here or I've seen some pretty cool stuff on YouTube as well.

My job today turned out to be a no go because the work couldn't be isolated/ clearance order boundary.
As luck would have a actual machinist job came up due to parts ordered incorrectly. I was able to modify it and have it back to them in just under 2 hours.

Same city. Pretty much the same commute. I’d go from working at UMaine, probably the best job I’ve ever had, to working for the local utility company based in Veazie, the next town over from Orono, where I currently am.

I should have taken a couple of pictures. Wasn't much machining involved but was a 1/8" x 1.5" bent into a horseshoe shape. I first traced it on the table then straightened it out enough (90 deg) to thread the bandsaw blade through it then re-weld the blade. This piece had 2 half inch wide slits in it that needed to be 1" wide. A guard for a jib Crane sheave. So cut and welded twice then blacksmith it back into original shape.
