They are the bomb. no more cleaning under or around the mats or "killer mat movement". They don't move and nothing gets under them. Weathertech.com. 170.00 or so to do a dbl cab front and back I think 80 or 90 will do just fronts. Every now and then the guys here on the forum will do a group buy and get them a bit cheaper.

Mods are currently being changed .....
Most people did it to help prevent the chance of someone running their tag #s and finding where they live, reducing the chance of the car (or parts) being stolen.

Rear bumper looks awesome. Did you Plasti-Dip over the plastic inserts in the bumper?

Did you do the badges on the truck, and just tape like mad, or did you take them off?

    Planning on doing this soon....thanks!

Man this could not be any easier! There's a few threads on this but I will tell you the deal.. there are plenty of folks over thinking this process. First take a little rubbing alcohol and clean the emblems (just use a Q-tip) then dry with clean rag. Then, get some blue painters tape and some newspaper. Tape off the emblems while still on the truck... tape around them and leave about 1/8" around the edges. Then take the newspaper and tape and cover a 2' area or so around that to protect from over spray. Then spray a coat over the emblem. Don't worry about the paint that is showing between the letters and what not (we'll get to that in a sec). Then save a ton of time...after you spray a light coat...hit it from about 2' away (not to close) with your wife's hair dryer for about 15 seconds...then repeat the process till the whole area is done. remove the tape and newspaper let it dry a few more min with a little help from the hair dryer then take your fingernail and remove all of the excess around the emblem carefully. The gap between the truck and the emblem will cause a natural break in the plasti-dip and allow this to happen. After that, take a toothpick and very carefully remove the spaces in between the letters and in the holes. Then stand back and enjoy. Hope this helps.

Nice looking truck, love the color. What brand/type bull bar is that. Nice, clean and simple. Looks great. The plasti-dip looks great also. I have a MGM also. Looking forward to seeing more mods to your truck so I don't have to experiment on mine:)

    Coming Soon....
Attempted to plasti dip emblems on my 2001 today. The side limited and tail gate badges had peeled some of the chrome already, which definitely didn't help. Just thought i'd share some pictures and thoughts.

    A few before shots

    During

First badges first coat, put too much and it went to the bottom forming a but of a drip

First coat rear, put on a lot less..in fact in the end I feel not enough on the rear badge, even after 4 coats; just didnt get enough on there.

Rear, 4 coats, 30 min between coats and light blow with heat gun for 30 seconds from 2.5 feet away. Peeled tape right after the last coat.

Used a toothpick to trace around the badges before peeling, it was a mistake and i'll show why a little later. In this photo, this was the overspray first badge. The bottom drip sort of tightened up a little so it wasn't terribly bad. You can see at the top of the m why i shouldn't have traced with toothpick.

My best badge and keeper: just peeled all around and came off perfectly, no toothpick. perfect amount of plasti dip.

    Conclusion:

Proper badge spray can be achieved. But I didn't pull it off all around this time. I'll work at it to get them all like my passenger door.

The rubber badges don't do too well, from my experience.

yikes, the sr5 and emblems on the back were terrible.. redoing them now. i think the key is to outline them with a toothpick while they are still wet.
