Keep in mind, you're running 15x10s. I'm going to be running 16x8s.

Meaning less rubbing for you. I dont think you'll need them. But at least you have them if you do

We'll see. I already rub the frame with my 33s. Unfortunately, my tires are scheduled for delivery in late April, so I won't know until then.

It's not the rim size and width that causes rub, it's the offset. @Fernando probably have a 3.5bs on his 15x10, which will push the tire farther away from the frame.

I definitely would have thought that his wider rims would have helped push his tires off the frame, but I guess not. My new rims are the same back spacing and offset as my current rims. 4" BS and -12 offset.

I did look for rims with 2" - 2.5" of backspacing, but the only ones I found I didn't like the way they looked or they were outside my budget.

worth a shot, I've run several sets and it's been hit and miss depending on the tire.

17x8.5 4.30 BS and 315/70/17 and have missing paint on my frame. My LCAs also have no steering stops so that probably doesn't help.
But it's CA and nothing rusts so it's fine.

I have had DOT Creepy Crawlers on one truck and radial Trepadors on the Tacoma and they both rock offroad. The Razr MTs look great. Pattern looks very similar to the creepy crawlers but I'm assuming it's a harder compound so they last longer on the road.

    Stuff. Also things.
Like Rob, I run 16x8 3.5BS and 315/75-16s and scrub a lot as well.

It was definitely less when I ran my 1” spacers, but I pulled those a few months back.

Just from reading around it seems like 2" backspacing definitely gets you off the frame. I'm hoping that 1.5" spacers and 4" backspacing while also doing the tub job at full mechanical bind can minimize rubbing to the greatest extent. Bump stops should also help keep things a little under control.

They worked very well with MTRs and Krawlers my dad has had in the past. I'm hopeful they'll work. Probably not as good as a balancing machine, but good enough so I don't have to worry about knocking weights off on the trail.

I had a shop put beads in a set of 255 85 16 Maxxis Bighorns because they said they couldn’t fit the tire on their balancing machine.
They worked pretty well for me.

That's weird. I can get 38s balanced at work before we start running into issues with the road force instrument on the balancer.

Good to hear the beads worked. We're they ceramic balancing beads or airsoft bbs?

Not 35s related, but I broke and bought hood struts for the truck. So tired of the hood prop.

Yeah, I was kinda mystified by the whole thing.

I bought the tires on Simple Tire and had them shipped to Pep Boys on El Camino Real in Santa Clara. It was pretty quick and easy.
However, they put beads in the tires and told me afterward as they handed my keys to me to take it home.

I was pretty unhappy at the time. But they were otherwise supercool and they told me if the beads didn't work they would cover the cost of having another shop remove them and have the tires balanced on a machine. The truck drove fine so I kept the beads.
I don't remember what kind of beads they were.

I balanced a set of 5 - 40" mounted to racline monster beadlock and drives excellent. 4 of the 5 took ~2-2.75oz of tape on weight except for 1, which required 3.75oz.

    Can't believe a shop/tire machine can not balance 33.....
