Crawl box is an additional gear reduction box that is installed between the transmission and transfer case. Very expensive modification that allows for very low speeds and very high torque for "crawling" over obstacles off road.
Re-gearing refers to changing the gear ratio in the front & rear differentials to offset power loss that comes with larger & heavier tires.
Locker is a device installed in the differential that provides true Posi-traction, both wheels on the axle are turning together regardless of traction.

thanks for that. Been checking up on the google machine. trying to decide what I need and what i can dream of getting. So am I correct in that you can have crawl control and regear, can you then also have an e locker or locker front and rear? I have a trd sport atm and can you help with winning the lottery soon? thanks in advance. I have never owned a vehicle where the mods outweigh the value of the truck. Sweet baby swaddlin jesus it really is never ending.

The crawl box mod for me ended up with a price tag over $4500
Reagear and lockers were done at the same time for over $2700

This is NOT a cheap hobby by any means.

Does it make sense and is it possible to do front and rear diff locker with re-gear first then crawlbox?

Actually no, bought a fully complete front & rear diff used from a member of tw on the west coast. 4.56 gears with ARB lockers already installed.

Holy shit. That's insane. My TG box with twin sticks and driveling mods was less then $2200. Please tell me your rocking an Atlas.

That's the easiest way and their costumer service is the best in the industry. So is their warranty.

That’s total cost with all the additional things needed to complete it to the way I wanted it.
Just the shifter setup was $500 of that.
Triple sticks with a custom leather boot from red line goods.
There are cheaper ways to go for sure. ;)

If I could do it again, I would have done an Atlas 4 speed with 2.72 planetary and 3.8 t-case gears.

Atlas t-case are self contained units so you don't have to worry about ATF seeping into it. Advanced Adapters has better selection of gears so you can choose if you want to go hella slow and get their 5.0:1 or if you want to go fast, they have a 2:1. They are also pretty much bulletproof. 300M internals with th 4 speed or the 2 speed race case. The trail case has some different internals if I remember correctly.

There are 3 downsides to atlas unfortunately. The obvious one being cost. 4 grand isn't exactly easy to stomach for most. The one that isn't obvious to most is the size. They are massive. If you want a flat belly or at least to make your skid plates for back on, you're going to need to cut into the floorboards to make it fit. The weight is also a concern. You need to build a support for it because of the weight. I'd recommend a tail housing support, but that voids Advanced Adapters warranty.

My current inchworm setup is very nice, but it's also the old inchworm gear adapters and case that was made by Jim Christianson (old owner of Inchworm) so I can't speak on behalf of the newer stuff that low range made.

If you can't afford the Atlas, I totally understand that. That's why I went with the Inchworm stuff as well. I would however not do the shifter setup I currently have. The RADesigns t-case shift plate leaks and has been a completely pain to work with. I've done everything I can to make it better and it just doesn't. It's much better now, but that was also after I added a second o-ring and ultra blacked the crap out of it and put a very long breather tube on it as well. I should have gotten the redesigned twin sticks for the t-case and a single shifter for the crawlbox.

Just my 2¢. I know several people have run the TG stuff with success, but I also know people who've had a ton of issues with them as well.

Yeah. It's probably just really unlucky for me then. It happens though. I wanted something very specific and I've dealt with the oil leak.

Rad Triples are rad. I honestly haven't heard many people complain about them leaking and Rory is a stand up guy in my dealings with him.

I'd definitely agree. I'd just love to a redesign of the shifter plate to have a better seal on the shaft between the shift linkage tab and shift fork. I believe Rory was the guy I talked to when I first asked him about his triple stick design. He's super helpful and definitely answered my questions.
