If you're not airing down/up every weekend going off road, I'd throw my weight behind Viair as well. I have the 88p, and it works great. Is it the fastest? No, but it's still a very reasonable amount of time to air back up. I air down a couple of times a year, and to save a good chunk of money, I don't mind waiting the extra 5 - 10 minutes to air back up with a reliable, more cost effective compressor (~$70).

That being said, if you have the money, then by all means go for the ARB under hood compressor or a larger Viair like the 400p.

Also remember, you will probably be waiting on your buddies to air up, so you are going to be as fast as your slowest buddy. :D

Yeah, I don’t think the arb is a fair comparison, at least not the CKMT24....it’s $1000 mounted under the hood like that.

A fairer comparison...but still twice the price...is the CKMT12 ($450). I had the 12 mounted in the Jeep I just sold and had used it a hundred times in a few years on 33’s. I’ve had my Viair/smittybuilt ($250) for 18 months and have used it a couple dozen times at least.

In my experience The viair airs up 4 33’s from 15psi to 32 psi in about 20 min. The arb 12 maybe a bit longer.

They both get blazing hot doing it. For smaller tires the viair seems to stay a bit cooler.

The arb has imperial fitting quick connects....the viair has weird metric ones, but that costs $10 to fix.

Both have crappy hoses and chucks.

    MO and YMMV

My CO2 bottle can do that in less than 5 minutes. It doesn't get hot either.

That looks like an 80....if it’s steel it’s what, 30 pounds? 35 in aluminum? And twice the size of a portable compressor. Air ups must be monster fast for you though. What do you pay to fill your bottle or are you ‘hooked up’?

    No warranty!
Shipping from China will be expensive and a long wait.
Plus DA has upgrades hoses, fittings and power wires.

Been very happy with the Viair 300P, though the ARB on board air is very tempting. If I find the right black Friday deal I might a have a 300P for sale!

I have an Arb twin in my Jeep and Arb singles in the Excursion and Taco. Here is the Taco with Slee bracket.

I bought the air chuck, thanks.

I’ve seen a bunch of portable compressors mounted permanently in the engine bay including the viair. Barely enough work to qualify as a mod.

What do you intend to do with it? Airing up at the trail, or just seasonal pressure top-up and emergency flat inflation? Airing up at the trail in a reasonable time requires a heavy (20+ lb) and expensive ($200+) unit. The ARB twin is $550 if you go with the hard-mount kit, more if you want it in a plastic tool case.

I got the AliExpress compressor and modified it with a marine trolling motor plug so I don't have to deal with alligator clips:

I keep the 22-lb compressor and hose in a Milwaukee tool bag and carry it in the truck only on wheeling trips. I keep a separate Viair 85P in the truck all the time for emergency use. The 85P is the highest rated compressor that plugs into the cigarette lighter.

What’s your opinion on the 85p? Is it significantly better than a typical $30 one from Amazon? I would just be topping off my tires, not deflating them and then needing to refill them.

I have the Viair 300P and it works really well for my 265s. Looking at the dual ARB setup for airing up and a locker though.
