I've done all of my own lifts but if I was going to have someone else do one it would probably be Mud Connection.

Recommend avoiding AC Sport. Coworker's husband bought a new vehicle that they installed a lift which included extended brake lines and they forgot to bleed the brakes.

I also had a very negative experience with Motorsports Authority but in the interest of full disclosure it was a paint issue, not mechanical. They may be solid on mechanical but they won't get another penny from me.

We installed my lift by ourselves at a friends house, but my family uses Sherwood Tire Pros for mounting tires/alignment on all of our cars. I recently got Nitto Trail Grapplers installed by them, along with an alignment.

Moore/Robinson Goodyear in NLR are my go to guys for anything. They are a customer of mine so I always try to repay the favor to them. Never had any issues with them at all. Greg runs the place.

If I have something complicated that I can't do myself I use Sherrill's in Gravel Ridge. They don't do tires/alignment but they spoke very highly of Sherwood Tire Pros.

Ditto. They used to do some of my work when I still had my Acura, but I would never use them again or recommend them. Once Jeremy relocated his shop and partnered with the dealership, it was game over.

Depends on what type of lift you are wanting. It's really not terribly difficult to do yourself if you have a buddy and some tools. Cruiser Co on Colonel Glenn orders Old Man Emu stuff and installs it, well trusted. 4x4 Mud Connection also does a good job from what I hear, but never used them personally. Hardest part of DIY is compressing the springs, but auto parts places loan the spring compressors. Just takes big cahonas and extra care. You could always pull the spring, take and have spring put on the shock and reinstall it. Not that hard, just takes time.

Also check out Four C's auto in Alexander. Chris is a Toyota master mechanic that struck out on his own. Stand-up dude, very reasonable prices. He's done work on my cruiser and my tacoma.

Can relate, I assembled coilovers with #740 Eibach springs at home...that was scary.

Lol. I may have told this story on here before but I had a buddy install a lift at my house one time. While compressing one of the springs the saddle on the rented spring compressor suddenly slipped. After both of us nearly soiling ourselves we strapped the spring, strut, and compressor to a large tree with a 10k lb ratchet strap and finished the job.

Hammering on those rented compressors with an impact, watching the rod bend and the lil saddles flex...yea, it's scary.

Most lifts have the option of ordering preassembled. Highly recommend, esp for us driveway mechanics

I think pre-assembly was 70 bucks more per spring when I ordered mine, and I was like, 'pffft...I can do this, can't be that hard'....next time I'm paying the extra.

For those of y'all that care, the FS just released updated MVUM for Ozark National Forest. I haven't poured over it to see if anything good has closed or not.

Not sure if Gaia has been updated, Avenza does have the new maps though.

Rigs and Coffee in Little Rock date changed to Saturday, February 27th. The snow last weekend caused the rescheduling.

Whenever I've changed coils, I've always put a good floor jack under the LCA, jacked it up a bit for good tension, loosened the LCA bolts, unbolted the shock at the top, and eased that floor jack down real slow. Then it's the opposite to put the new ones on. There's a YouTube video of a guy explaining it while changing coils on a white second gen.

The nice thing about doing it that way is you don't have to handle the coil while it's compressed. That gives me the heeby geebies. It's funny that I can't do that, but I don't mind sticking my fingers in the coil to guide the top of the shock back through the top mount while jacking the LCA back up

I don't know if the USFS interactive visitor map is updated at the same time, but I use it for tons of things. The OHV>50" filter is what is most important to me. Might be interesting to compare and see if they update both simultaneously.
