    Very true.

But, in a world without rust I'd still rock an XJ, an old Hardbody, or a pre-Tacoma for my DD, and keep a 12v or 24v Cummins in the garage for a 'work' days. So old skis suit me. :notsure:

I love it. Its come in handy so many times. I was able to get the crate with my bumper from the end of the driveway into my basement on my own; same with the rtt.

It really proved its own when I was restoring the plow for my other truck. With a couple straps, you can move an 8 foot blade (off the aframe) fairly easily.

Mmmm I have been nursing a bottle of Jefferson Reserve Max got me for a house warming gift. Try to mix it up each night so I don't blow through the bottles too quickly... instead now I just blow through multiple bottles quickly...

You'd be surprised. I was still using my old skis from high school until last year when the bottom of one of my boots heels broke off so it would no longer engage the binding. Happened while we were up at Sunday River for a week, so I demo'd a few pairs of skis for the rest of the week and bought leftover models at the end of the season. New ski tech is night and day over the old stuff. Where my old skis chattered at speed, the new ones just cruiser along like a cadillac. The new ones float in powder, but have a real quick release similar to twin tip skis so you can eat bumps or trees. They are like driving a jet vs. the Wright Brothers first airplane. I ended up with a pair of K2 Mindbender 99's, and they are dope. They look huge but dont feel like it on your feet. Absolutely eat anything.

What i thought was funny was, I obviously needed boots immediately at Sunday River. We were staying on the mountain so I walked over to the ski shop to see what they had. Tried on a few pairs and I was like these are all sweet, but I'm not looking to spend that kind of dough. Kid tells me to hold on, goes in back and comes back with a bright yellow pair of real nice Saloman boots. Says these are a 2017 model, but no one wanted them cause they are bright yellow so they just sat on the shelves and subsequently the back room. As soon as he told me the price it was immediately take my money, IDGAF what color they are.

I wanted to get back on the mountains this year. I haven't been on skis since I was in junior high. I'll be honest I think I'm glad I skipped this year with the restrictions trying to figure all that shenanigans out. Might try to get back out next year.

I have nothing. No skis, poles, no boots. Might be an expensive winter next year.... :|

It would be worth it if your heading out west. Tx isnt too far from Colorado, Arizona is supposed to have some good spots at elevation.

Jealous about those hitting the slopes this year. Had surgery late November, and despite a healthy recovery, Snowboarding is out of the cards for me this year.

I mean, that's part of moving to TX is I hardly do winter sports. I hate the cold, I think skiing is fun like once or twice a year or so. Ski Apache is about a 10 hour drive, 20 round trip. :notsure:

    I'm more a mountain biker - that's where I'd rather focus.

Ahh, didnt realize the aspect of hating the cold. Eh, well then fuck skis. Plenty of good mountain biking close by where you will be. Lots to look forward to on that front.

Not a big rum guy but got that as a work gift. Used it to make an Old Fashion (learned that's simply the "style" of drink and any liquor can be used). Very good

Wow, rear entry boots! I had a set of Nordicas as my last set of boots. Those were rear entry. My "new" boots (they're 20 yo now) are Technicas but regular front entry.

I've only skied with this setup probably 4 or 5 times!

I really miss my rear entry boots. I haven't found a set of front entry that were as comfy as my last pair. That said, I haven't been skiing in years. Really sad to think about, I used to be on the slopes every weekend throughout Elementary School, High School and College. After college, I moved away, lost the student discounts and very rarely go anymore.

@GarlicFarts how could you not like skiing/cold? It's only cold when you're not moving, once you move you're nice and toasty. If you want to get extra toasty get in touch with your inner hippy and free the heel...

If I was closer to a mountain, I'd consider that. I also work too many hours at my main job to make that viable, I don't think I could realistically take on a second job like that with where I'm at in life.
