It’s such a noticeable difference. The high beams threw me off for the longest time. I was under the impression that my lights weren’t leveled correctly.

Installed the headlight services harness this morning along with the bulbs. What a piece of cake easy install. Now to wait and see what the difference tonight is when it gets dark. I’m hoping it’s a significant upgrade, but guess we will wait and see.

    Hey guys,
Been wanting to get everything ordered to do the mod, but don’t have a multimeter handy at the moment. Anyone know if an 08 TRD OR is conventional switched or ground switched? Thanks.

Which harness and bulbs did you go with, may I ask? I have essentially the same truck (2013 T|X Pro, minus the SC). Guessing I'll need the same harness?

You need the harness and Osram 100/90W Superbrights

Headlight services gives the following disclaimer. Apologies if dumb question but I should be okay using this harness with DRL's disabled (turned off)? I have DRLs off 99% of the time anyways.

** For the 2005-2015 Toyota Tacoma (without DRLs)use our Universal Power-Switched Premium-Plus harness found below.**

They are referring to headlight DRL’s, not the amber running lights which is what most trucks are equipped with.

Oh I see. So don't have DRLs then.

    Appreciate the help!

As long as you don't have headlight DRLs (where you cannot turn the headlights off) you should be conventionally switched and be good with the conventionally switched harness.

my 08 standard (non DTR) head lights are hazed again and cracking. I'm looking to replace the units complete. Whats my best option / bang for the buck / way to go for an oldman. Did i read right that i have to take most of the front off to change them out?

Recommendation is to use OEM as they last longest for glazing over and the reflector is better than any third party. But, most expensive option.

It's not required to remove the bumper cover to change them out, but that does make HL access easiest. But I've had mine in and out several times without removing the cover. Getting to the mount bolt that is closest to the fender is a PITA, but doable.

I just bit the bullet and spent $489 on oem headlights. There’s plenty of tutorials on the YouTube to help with the process.
