I made my purchase 2/19 and emailed my ECU ID on 2/22 and am still waiting on the tune packs. They're just crazy busy right now I'm sure.

You are good to go unless you are waiting for a tune pack if you already unlocked your ECU.

I have 2 unlocked ECU's and also credits in my account to unlock a third ecu not spent yet. once i update I will only get credits to unlock 1 ecu, correct? if so do i just email/zendesk to get enough credits for the 2 addtl ecu's?

Youll have none for your VIN if you're using the free credits on a ECU

to clarify, I havn't updated yet. prior to update i have 2 ECU's unlocked and credits to unlock a 3rd that have been bought extra. I Think I just found the answer in your FAQ. I’m guessing I will just zendesk to get the extra credits I purchased after updating to the newest version.

“What if I have already flashed multiple trucks? Do I have to buy credits for them?
We will be working with folks who have flashed multiple vehicles and credit them for the amount of credits they have purchased. (the amount of credits you have purchased, doubled).”

Frankly, that sounds like a horrible experience.

What's the backstory on this? What happened

Have you gone back the stock tune lately? ...... and does it still have the same "sound" ?

I had a similar experience running 2.0 for regular fuel with modified shift schedule. The marble noise was only transient, it would only happen right after a downshift to 3rd for a second or so. Tried running 89 for 2 tanks but that did not help much.

I asked about it on the vF Tuner forum and the recommendation from OV Tune was to run premium fuel. I'm now running premium fuel on a premium tune, no more problems.

At first I was a little bummed about needing to pay more for fuel, but I don't think I could go back to a regular fuel tune now that I've tried the premium tune. You definitely notice the difference on the low end to mid range, which is where this truck was always seriously lacking anyway.

i would deff recommend trying this to narrow down the cause of the problem.

What is the point of the (tune pack) if the only tune you’re able to run is the 91 tune? I’m still waiting for my tune but I’d be pretty upset if I could only run 1 tune on the truck. Kinda defeats the purpose of the tune pack. When you guys do have those issues, are you data logging the truck and sending the info to OVtune to be reviewed or is that not how this works?

I cannot imagine how this "marble" sound sounds like.

How many people do you think are running 2.0 for regular fuel who are not experiencing what I have? Hundreds? Thousands? So what, we have two trucks reporting knocking at 4000+ rpm at highway speeds? I don't see the rationale for getting upset at OV Tune. Sure, it'd be cool if he had the time to write custom 87 tunes for a handful of trucks, but let's be reasonable, that's not how things are right now. Both the regular and premium 2.0 tunes are massive improvements over stock on my truck. If there's anyone who deserves my anger its Toyota.

I was just thinking out loud,
maybe I should have used the word irritated haha. I’m not knocking OVtune. I just paid $589 for vftuner and a tune pack and I’m waiting for my email tune pack like a kid on Christmas Day, Was just wondering if an issue like that’s comes up if we have support to solve it to run any of the tunes we have access to.

The 2.0 OLE tunes for the MT have been out for a very long time. If issues were consistent with many trucks it would have already been investigated.

regarding tune packs, depending on the ECU ID, and where you are sending the email depends on when you get a response. We are going as fast as possible, but to be sure, make sure you are sending any request to support@ovtune.zendesk.com

People keep sending it to our gmail for some reason and we don't check that email.

FYI, if you always drive at low load the ECU will raise the KCLV as it will not see or know where knock points are at to determine where to set ignition learn factors, and when you do floor it it can knock until it's corrected.

if it is consistently knocking every single time at the exact same RPM it's something else going on.

Have you switched back to stock to see if it does the same thing?
