People tend to pile on OV Tune around here for reasons that are often unwarranted, IMO. I didn't want my post to become a catalyst for that.

The tunes are worth getting excited about like a kid on Christmas. Almost certainly you will have no issues on any tune. And if you do, yes there is support. I was just pointing out that expecting a custom tune for a one off occurrence is setting expectations a little high I think.

95% of the time I drive like an old man. The other 5% of the time I let her rip. I think this confuses my truck.

this all makes me wonder- running premium on a regular tune? i always run 89 on my regular tune and works really well. if i ran 93, would the learning eventually catch up and be the same as premium tune? this is something i never totally understood.

This is what @OVTune noted on octanes with respect to Octane Learning:

I've run the Prem tunes exclusively with both 87 and 92. Costco only has those two in my area. 92 definitely has much more throttle response, and for me, good MPG bump.

I bought Ovtune last year, I have the orange tactrix kit and flashed 2.0base. Haven’t been on forum since only checking for 2.0 map with gear lock that was supposedly coming out. Do i need to buy vftune now? is there still a deal for existing flash kit owners? i thought i remember it was 75$ for vftune but now the website shows 199$ or 349$.

He said the 2.0 tunes with options are coming soon and that you won't have to buy vftuner. I think you can still upgrade for 75 it's just not an option on the site? Someone else can chime in, I'm struggling to keep up and the way some of the posts are worded I really am unsure of it all myself.

"I think" if you already have the kit and want to upgrade to VFtuner, you send a message to Zendesk and request to upgrade and you'll get a link to purchase the kit for the $79, people who didn't buy the original kit were using the $79 upgrade so it was removed from the site. You should probably include your original order number to prove you're already bought the kit.

I sent a zendesk ticket to ovtune about this and his response was "we will have this on our site available again very soon." So I am just waiting until its back on the site to purchase.

Thanks for the update. Hoping my Master Key is coming up in your queue! (order 8335...checked my spam folder).

Additional question for you: I am going to be getting your Tune Pack once I get my Master Key and have VF all installed and settled. Is there any reason/benefit/ease-of-process that I should wait to buy the Tune Pack until after VF 1.3 is released? Will there be any less back and forth or more idiot proofing then, or is there no real benefit other than more tables opened up for people to play with (who won't be me...I just want the tune pack file).

    Thanks!

Got my tunes, does anyone know the difference between 04A61_premium_33_Thx_4.88.vft and 04A61_premium _33_4.88.vft?

Do you guys wait till your tank is empty and then run premium fuel? I have half a tank of regular but would like to run the premium tune.

I never received the 2.0. Files. I'm using the new software since the old ovtune software isn't working anymore.
