I have to laugh , i dont see anyone complaining about giving the banks billions of dollars so they can buy other banks to boost their portfolio, this is our money, why do you think they cut off the money all of a sudden and are going in another direction, could it be they screwed the gov. took our money to make more money. AINT LIFE GREAT, THE FACT IS THE RICH WILL ALWAYS GET RICHER.

I don't think the banks should have been bailed out either.... But what would've happened to peoples' houses when their bank went under? Still, when those execs took $400,000...... They should have taken that money back and then hung them up by their nuts. WTF is wrong with people? On one hand they cry that they need help bailing out their failing company, and use the other hand to piss away more money.

No not a fan of a bail out for the big three they have been mismanaged for years they don't have any vision for what the future of the auto industry looks like.Rick Wagner CEO GM he's vission is build a Hummer followed by Hummer 2 then Hummer 3 please he has lost over $60 billon in four years.
Bob Nardelli who is the CEO of Chrysler was the CEO of Home Depot back in 2000 running Home Depot into the ground stocks dropped 40% in five years and for doing a great job he's reward he was paid $30 millon in 2005 nice. http://www.bloggingstocks.com/2006/...rdelli-builds-himself-a-fat-pay-plan-at-home/

Here is a clip from today when the big three showed up in there private jets with tin cups.:p

You would think that they might have driven a car that their companies make. But I guess their own products are not good enough for them...

One of the biggest problem with our great country is that people just don't band together and stand up for stuff. We (me included) will bitch and complain to anyone within ear shot but that's as foar as it goes.

Now,,, if a ref made a bad call during a sporting event,,, all hell would break loose and people would be in a huge uproar.

What happened to the days of tar and feather? lol

We let our gov't do what ever it wants because we can't (independantly) do much about it. Now if we all took a day off work (same day that is) and marched over to the Whitehouse and started bangin down the door and demanded that they stop throwing our money away or we'll be back to bash some heads,,, we would probably all get arrrested. lol Well, felt good for the moment anyway. lol

Bottom line here is that there are no consequences for anyone calling the shots. Until that happens,,, it's going to continue.

If only the Founding Fathers could see the way this country is being run. They are all probably turning over in their graves. I bet that none of them would have thought that this would be happening.

So the execs of the Big 3 showed up in Washington last night begging for money after they stepped out of their private jet and took a Lexus from the airport to Capital hill. (F'ers!!!!) They were asked duing that meeting if any of them were willing to give up their private jets.........

NO ONE RAISED THEIR HAND!!!!! Yeah lets bail them out just so they can keep doing what their doing !!!! SCREW THAT!

Ha ha ha. That is effin hilarious, if that is actually a fact. And they want brand loyalty from the consumer and a bail out by the tax payer? I'm so sick of this sh!t.

Adopt Mitt Romney's suggestions that was posted in this thread. Fry the exec's and let the employees own and run the company if they want to preserve their jobs.

I wonder if the employees can use their pension funds to buy a stake in the company?

Subject: From Salon Magazine..........I received this e-mail this morning.

Nov. 12, 2008 | Why bail out the car companies when they bailed out on us?
    ...
When I was at the Department of Energy in the 1990s, we partnered with G.M., Ford and Chrysler to speed the technological development of hybrid gasoline-electric cars, given that increased fuel efficiency and advanced hybrids vehicles were (and remain) clearly the best hope for cutting vehicle greenhouse gas emissions and ending our oil addiction. This partnership was an informal deal between the Clinton administration and the car companies. We did not pursue fuel economy standards and the car companies promised to develop a triple-efficiency car (80 miles per gallon) by 2004.
In one of the major blunders in automotive history, G.M. and Ford and Chyrsler walked away from hybrids as soon as they could when the Bush administration came in -- and after taxpayers had spent over $1 billion on the program. Ironically, the main result of our government-industry partnership (which had excluded foreign automakers) was to motivate the Japanese car companies to develop and introduce their own hybrids
    ...
Worse, in the past quarter-century, G.M. has spent millions of dollars lobbying to stop Congress from increasing fuel economy standards -- standards that might have forced them to build the kind of cars people actually want when oil prices are high.
    ...
And for this they are to be rewarded with billions in taxpayer money?

that's it. I cashed out of the stock market and I'm waiting it out. I lost 34% by investing in a mutual fund. Luckily, I only invested 1300 in it, but I'm pissed that I could have some serious truck mods for that.

seems to me that Lee Iacocca "bailed out" Chrysler by providing designs and vehicles that people actually wanted to buy.

    maybe that is the problem??

it seems to me that we are in an early 80's "funk" for car design again.

but, bail out big business....no way

    it's a corporate problem, not a gov't one

From what I heard, the big 3 each had their own private jet. They couldn't at least "jetpool". Just the money they spent going to ask for money to bail themselves out probably amounts to more than I will earn in my lifetime. NO BAILOUT
