FWIW. My '06 AT uses the foot stomp parking brake to apply. Another foot stomp to release. I also have bucket seats in the front, then a wanna be back seat in the Access Cab.

Automatic vs manual has been going around for years. Manual transmissions are purchased by folks who like to off road and/or do not live in busy cities where traffic is a bitch to drive in. Manual transmissions set longer on used car lots and have a reduced trade in value.

It has nothing to do with people getting weaker, same as push button E Brakes... has to do with convenience, but frankly I have never seen an OEM one and really don't need.

Wow that's crazy! A couple winters ago a chunk of ice came off a tractor trailer across a few lanes and thankfully into the fender and mirror of my truck and not thru the window.

The 6 speed in my Tacoma might have been better around the city, but my heavier 4Runner does much better on the highway for MPGs.

It's there a reasoning behind this? My Tacoma was the first vehicle i had seen with a pull-n-turn brake. My previous vehicles were GM, which most of mine had the pull up hand brake on the center console, both manual and auto.

@PennSilverTaco What kind of tires do you have on your Truck? There is some kind of new recall for Cooper tires and wasn't sure if that is what you had.

Parking brake location on auto vs manual is simply a factor of the 3rd pedal (clutch) found on the manual trans. There isnt room to put 4 pedals down there, also for emergerncy purposes, it would be hard to push in a clutch, step on the brake pedal AND step on an emergency brake in a manual.

That recall said something about the sidewalls swelling up with lumps for Cooper's.

The Thread and link is on the first page of the 3rd Gen section, your truck popped into my mind when I read it.

That I know. I was referring to the turn and pull style brake. The previous post makes it sound like Toyota no longer uses that style brake on Tacomas. From a cost perspective, i would think since the vehicle comes in both manual and auto, Toyota would use the same system for both :notsure:

I've got 235/75R15s on my 5 lug truck - no problems.
Check the 5 Lug section of the forum, there are lots of threads discussing tire size.
