Yes the 85P is 2-3x as fast as the cheapies on Amazon and in your local big box stores. It's also noticeably quieter. The 85P fits nicely in the storage bin below the access cab jumpseat without rattling.

The engine needs to be running when you run the compressor. Else if the system voltage drops below 13V, the higher current draw will often blow the 15A fuse in the cigarette lighter circuit.

I've used this Viair 300P for years -- fills up tires fast. Doing the homework for a possible upgrade to the 450P onboard.

Quit the embarrassing display but, I bought a cheap portable on Amazon and used it extensively on a road trip across the USA (Mojave trial, Hells revenge, pony express, Colorado, rubicon trial) and had zero issues.

I've often wondered if a small 120V compressor run off the trucks power outlet would be a better choice. ?? I have a small pancake compressor and have seen smaller yet 120V units.

I use an energizer one. I only air down to mid 20's so I don't need to spend big money on an air compressor. I'm also patient and don't really care if I take longer to air up. It's faster than the Costco one I used to have though. This one is super quiet which is convenient since I sometimes air up in the morning at the hotel parking lot.

$36 and 2 year warranty if you register it. It won't compete with a lot of the setups posted here but I think it's worth it for the money if you aren't always in a rush.

If I ever need one, I would go to Home Depot get husky one. 26with extended warranty, if it ever broken just bring back to Home Depot get a new one.

That's a really good idea. You can really just go to home depot and exchange it there if it breaks?

Shit I found on CL or EBAY that I could screw on.
    Color me impressed.

I bought a Viair 88P years ago to take in the Mini on roadtrips. (Mini Coopers don't come with Spares). I never used it. Fast Forward to today. Planning for some light beach driving. I have an Amazon deflater kit that I set to 20#. I have tested these, but not the compressor.
driveway test: Stock trd 265/70r16 tires
    3.30 minutes 35# to 20#
    3.0 minutes 20# to 35#

ps. don't touch the heatsink while in operation.:annoyed:

I have the vlair 88p and I love it. Inflates tires really fast and the price was great!

After using my cousins Viair 300P after doing some wheeling in Arizona, I bought one when I returned home. It's fast even though that unit according to the info on the box isn't rated for 35" tires. But then I'm not into airing down a bunch. 25 psi where I was at
