.22 is so much fun. I really like my 50th anniversary Ruger 10/22 and my Henry lever action 22. Lots of low cost fun, especially with many other calibers being in short supply.

I had a Ruger 10/22, and a GSG1911 .22 cal. The GSG1911 was a nice plinker, but I wouldn't buy it for personal protection. The ammo is cheap which is a big plus.
.22 is fun to shoot.!!! :infantry:

The Smith & Wesson TRR8; I’ve never fired one but I did get to hold one in a gun shop last month and I really want one!

My son has one with a Holosun optic. Super fun. I have a K Frame that is probably its granddaddy. My Granddaddy carried it on duty in the late 50s early 60s.

K Frames are medium sized revolvers. Probably all that was used in 50's & 60's.

I got to take my pick from my grandad's gun collection before I helped pack up the rest so my grandmother could sell. I grabbed the five long guns that had personal sentimental value and a long family history. After I had declared my pick we discovered in the bottom of the case a 6" nickel plated python, still in box, with a legible receipt and warranty card from 1974. :annoyed: :frusty:

Can't exactly ask for a do-over on your pick when you blurt out, "oh that one's gonna be a nice payday." My grandma bought herself a nice couch and a tv big enough for her to see, so it worked out.

I don't know about that one. Too much tati and not enough cool for me. But....if I was in the bush somewhere at nighttime and I had my TRL1-HL on it I would feel a lot more at ease. I'd feel loads better if it was bigger than a .357 though.

It's a .357 Magnum. That was a pretty common duty side arm. You can load it with .357 or .38. It's not like he went all Dirty Harry and carried a S&W N frame 44. IIRC, they didn't allow officers to carry 1911s, so he went with the K frame. Gramps carried all the time. I have a picture of him, horseback, with a Winchester 1892 in a scabbard and a 1911 on his hip. He was riding their citrus ranch property in Southern California as a young man in the late 1920s.
