My ZF6 Ford has the parking brake on the floor next to the clutch, think it comes down to ergonomics and how the automobile designer chooses to lay out the vehicle. But generally, the parking brakes on manual transmission are in the center, (stick or center operated) and I've found most stick cars have a bucket seat vs. a bench. Not true all the time, but 60% of the time it works every time.

Anything that's so supposedly easy to install and provide such vast improvements of MPGs would undoubtedly be installed on every vehicle from the factory. That alone would allow even Hummer to meet EPA fleet vehicle MPG standards.

    It's absurd.

Oh wait, I forgot about the conspiracy aspect, where manufacturers and the government have conspired against us, the consumer, from obtaining such technology... for *reasons* I guess.

I’m not sure why you think 20-22 is bad mileage. While my PreRunner does get better in town, most of the time, your highway numbers seem spot on with mine, and I bought it new. And while in the olden days manual transmissions did get better mileage, that’s not the case anymore.

WTF are you talking about?? How did we go from Browns gas which is not practical, and manual transmissions, to hydrogen cell vehicles?

I knew someone that experimented with something like this in an older Jeep, a Patriot-type, straight 6 cylinder vehicle. I forget the actual model, it was something like 10 years ago and the Jeep was quite old then. He had his set-up in the cargo area and somehow fed it up to the engine. It was quite elaborate and I believe it mixed with the regular gasoline. If I recall after all the testing was done the only benefit was a cleaner burning engine, less pollution. The last he talked about it, he said he needed to figure out how to scale it up to increase the voltage or current so the water would boil, break down at a faster rate. Anyways, it took up to much space in the cargo area to be practical and I had a hard time holding my interest in it.

in my opinion, lazy and weak are synonymous. It’s only convenient if you don’t want to be bothered. For example, one might say it’s more convenient to take a car to work than ride a bike or jog. That person is using that as an excuse to being lazy. To sacrifice reliability at the expense of your laziness is the pure American way. With an automatic, you can eat your Macdonald burger, tweet your instantgram, and snap your ex girlfriend a shot of you listening to cool music. And when you get out of your car, you can press a button to engage brake because pulling a lever takes too long, more instantgram posts could be made in that wasted time.

this is TW, where the threads always lead to BS.

My mechanic, whose daily driver is presently a 2017 or 2018 DCLB TRD Sport, plans on selling his Taco and buying a Cybertruck; I think he should keep the Taco to be honest...
