Unless you have a dif breather or plan on changing your fluid when you get home, I would avoid the puddles as best you can.

Water crossings in general do nothing good for your vehicle.

So as a matter of fact, mine ARB breather kit showed up yesterday. I was going to say screw it and go out today but thanks for the info, I got it installed today, we'll be trying it out tomorrow!

Old solenoid didn’t respond to 12 volts. Definitely burnt up that fluid with the bad solenoid. Was dark as shit but I was at about 15k since last drain and fill. What came first the chicken or the egg lol?

Anyways trucks shifting smoother than it ever has in my ownership. Hopefully it holds up. One note those damn pan bolts didn’t want to torque perfect even cross pattern. I snapped one and luckily extracted without ducking up the threads. Hopefully this damn truck stays healthy for a little while :fingerscrossed::ballchain:

I’ve also had mine freeze up on me and make similar sounds, they went away after slowly driving forward and backward and pulling the ebreak to come to a complete stop

I am new to the taco world. Out on the Olympic Peninsula. Have a 2019 AT OR stock. Looking for any and all information that I should know about. I have started doing research regarding upgrading taco, but no idea what is worth it, what items have held up to the test of time, and so on. The vast knowledge on this site and from the members would be greatly appreciated.

Welcome! I'm pretty new myself so I don't think I could impart a lot of knowledge, I will tell you, there's a bunch of super helpful, smart folks on this site. One anecdote, I have already ended up replacing something I bought because I was too excited to buy shiny stuff instead of figuring out what I actually needed :)

I am OCD when it comes to buying stuff. I do research, and more research. I am an avid hiker and mountaineer. So, I spend most nights researching gear to ensure that I wont end up in the middle of BFE with broken gear, having to use SAT phone calling my ranger friends to come bail me out, and be the butt of the jokes for the next month.

I've been going through coolant like crazy and I'm not sure why. its not in my oil so its not my head gasket but damn i've had to refill my coolant like 3 times over the last year. Anybody have any ideas why?

Leaking radiator? Or leaking hoses/lines somewhere? Leaking WP? Leaking block drains?
Does your truck make white smoke?

yeah a little bit of smoke but not an unusual amount. the only drips I've seen have come from the ac condensation drain

It really depends on what your end goal with the truck is. If you just drive down FS roads to get to hiking trailheads then there really isn't a reason to upgrade anything as the truck is super capable from the factory. Some people like the factory tires, I did not, so that is a good first mod IMO. Typically speaking the largest tire you can fit without modification is a 265/75-16 (some will argue you can fit a 255/85-16 without mods). If you plan on doing more extreme terrain you will want to armor up (skid plates, sliders, bumpers, winch, etc).

Just be forewarned that just about every mod requires supporting mods...

    Good luck!

pressure test the whole cooling system. If theres no visible external leaks, its going to be internal.
