Just got back from going to Floor & Decor and eating at Le Madelines.... now to talk more about remodeling the kitchen of the new house...

 

Making some smoked chuck roast nachos again. I ran 10 miles between yesterday and today. Tomorrow will be a weights day

 

Just beer. And ditto on the boredom.

Buying a new house, it needs a new kitchen in all the ways possible. We’re also going to pull up all the 70’s carpet and replace it with vinyl flooring. More to be done, but those are job one and two. We’re gluttons for remodel punishment, but if we play our cars right the value of this property will go up 30-40% with all the updates. This one was built in 75 and has never had any updates. Peep the spiral staircase to the upstairs room that will end up being our creative space.

 

Drinking beer in the garage....

 

Has potential. Knock out all of that iron, replace the upper banister with wood, and level the sunken floor.

I’m going to pull the spiral staircase out along with the rest of the hand rail, but we’re going to go back with metal, but painted black. We’ll end up taking down about half of the landing. We love the sunken floor in the living room. It’s part of the vibe of the house. This’ll be a cool space once it’s done.

 

But the best booby traps are on spiral staircases

 

That thing is so hard to descend! You’re on your heals the whole way down... it’s real dumb! To get anything up into that room you have to take the hand rail down and lift it up onto the landing. Super sketch.
